After Judge Legg handed down his ruling in Woollard v. Sheridan that Maryland's requirement of a "good and sufficient reason" to receive a handgun permit was unconstitutional, hundred of applicants flooded the Maryland State Police Licensing Division with applications.
However, Judge Legg subsequently issued a temporary stay of that order and the state is petitioning for a permanent stay pending appeal. Given those circumstances, Maryland has been returning applications unprocessed with the following letter ...

Over here.
What seems to have caused you to excerpt your own Wordpress blog?
Thank you for posting that. Please ignore the fools who will come along and accuse you of “pimping a blog”.
He didn't post it, he excerpted it. He wants hits.
Looks like a pimp to me.
Is there some rule against excerpting your own blog? I thought this section of the forum was specifically for blogs?
As for your question, I will not try to hide the fact that I blog in an attempt to get readers. I spend hours each day writing articles that I feel provide meaningful legal analysis and the reward that most bloggers are seeking (myself included) is having your blog become known as a reliable source of good writing. In order for that to happen, people need to visit the site.
In short, I AM trying to generate traffic to my blog but I am not trying to mislead anyone and I am not selling anything. I always post enough of an excerpt to let readers know what the article is about so that they can decide if they are interested in reading the entire article.
If this is a violation of the rules of the forum, could a moderator please let me know?
Here’s what Jim Robinson had to say about it:

“I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.”
He did the work, he's earned 'em. From me, he's gettin' 'em. You can do as you please.
BTW isn't it proper etiquette to ping a person when you refer to 'em?
I believe that I am in compliance with that rule.
I am not trying to steal readers away from FR and do not try and get people to move their discussions to my blog.
Rather, I participate actively in the discussions of the topics HERE.
Usually.
Click on blogs all day long if that's what floats your boat.
Pat 'em on the back for using FR as free advertising while your at it.
Thank you very much!
I really do not want to detract from the incredible work that FR does and will try to make sure that I am always keeping Jim’s words in mind.
It's not a rule, it's a suggestion and by posting an excerpt you are NOT complying.
Hey, your choice. But you CAN expect to catch some grief for it.
Pimps is parasites.
A good and sufficient reason is the US Constitution, specifically the 2 Amendment.
Did you join Free Republic just so you could be a PITA toward people who post here?
Explain how wanting the dude to post his full content is “keeping references to personal blogs” out of anything.
If you can.
I would appreciate a ruling on this as well. The last thing I want to do is violate your rules and I will uncomplainingly comply with whatever your wishes are in this matter
Thanks!
John
Well: It’s useful to me. I live in Maryland and I had no idea that this was being done.
I was planning on sending in an application myself, now that I know that Maryland is doing the same thing DC is doing and avoiding having to obey the law by obfuscation,I won’t bother.
Maryland: sometimes called the Free State is not free by any means we have some of the highest taxes and some of the most egregious laws in America.
I suppose that is becaus we have too many Democrats here.
Might wanna clean the 8 trackers and 31 cookies off your machine when you’re done.
