School children, businesses, clergy, politicians and even the United States military soon will honor the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, founder of the Soviet Union.

They were handing out “green” shopping bags at the local market today. They handed me one which I popped into a plastic bag to tote it home.

The ShopRites in my area make a big deal of having paper bags on hand, and if you ask for one, they put all your items in a paper bag... which they use as a liner for a plastic bag!
