MIAMI -- A third NBC staffer has lost their job over misleading edits to a 911 call made by murder accused George Zimmerman shortly before his fatal clash with Trayvon Martin.
Lilia Luciano, a Miami-based reporter, has been off the air since March 31 and TV Newser reported Wednesday that she had been dismissed from the network she joined just 18 months ago.

They might clean house but they’ll never get the stench out.

MIAMI -- A third NBC staffer has lost their job over misleading edits to a 911 call made by murder accused George Zimmerman shortly before his fatal clash with Trayvon Martin. "Murder accused"? Oh yeah, there's a common phrase.
The media are perverts.

I will say this....it will make video-editors think twice about any call from the management to show a story in a certain fashion. I’m guessing that some guys will request an email from the boss....detailing exactly what they want in the story, and if heads fall in the future...it’ll be management heads. This might briefly make editors clean house.

Three people fired over an editing mistake. Tsk, tsk, tsk. They all wanted their 'piece' aired on the Today Show, and they got their wish.

***Her dismissal followed that of reporter Jeff Burnside and an unnamed producer — both of whom were also based in the station's Miami studios. Two other unnamed employees were also disciplined over the incident, according to The Miami Herald.***
Call me cynical, but why is the producer and two others ‘unnamed’? Maybe because they are, let's say, members of a class other than white, hispanic, or ‘white hispanic’, and they don't want their own flaming racism to show?

Rush was saying today that
ProFlowers and
Sherry's Berries both dropped him like a hot potato when the Sondra Fluke episode came up. They took the
high and mighty approach - and said that they could
NEVER be associated again with Rush ...
After more was known about her [Fluke], BOTH pleaded and begged Rush to re-instate them as advertisers. He refused.
BUT, BOTH of them ARE STILL claiming [on their web sites] to be associated with Rush.
Rush told listeners that this WAS NOT the case and implicitly [although not straight-out] encouraged listeners NOT to patronize them ...
Payback is a bitch ...

If the media were not so soft, someone not from NBC might actually do some journalism and investigate what happened and inform the public. But alas, there are few journalists in the US any more.

Martin in self-defense after the teen attacked him, though Martin was unarmed. As if the latter had anything to do with the former.
Someone attacks you, with bare hands or a weapon, you can fight back with deadly force. In any sane jurisdiction, which Florida is in that regard.

This was an "unrelated" incident, being a totally different edit.
The people "up the line" who direct and oversee the chronically misleading editorial action are as safe as can be.
