Gallup can imply that Hispanics will help Obama win the Catholic vote but the numbers donít wash

In it’s last survey Pew found that among White Catholics Barack Obama is trailing Mitt Romney 57/37. As clear as these numbers are, left alone and not attacked by the Left they portend “game set match Mr. Romney” in November.

In the history of such polling no Democrat has ever lost the Catholic vote and won the general election for president. Obviously this is a very dangerous statistic for Democrats and the fact that it is so easily confirmed makes it more so.

Enter Gallup. To obfuscate the power of Obama’s deficit with Catholics, Gallup has ridden to Obama’s recue with its new polling results on the Catholic vote saying “No it’s not 57/37 but actually tied at 46/46!”

Wow! Two well established polling companies have talked to thousands of respondents and come up with a twenty point difference in what they see as the Catholic vote – but how can that be?

The 57/37 lead Pew found for Romney comes among White Catholics. The number Gallup got for White Catholics shows a statistically identical 38/55.

Pew found Hispanics support Obama 67/27. Gallup’s numbers were worse for Romney at 70/20 in Obama’s favor.

It is an established fact that Democrats are anywhere from 5 to 8 points less enthusiastic about voting in November.

Nevertheless, compared to the average Democrat, Hispanics are even less enthused…… The Hispanic vote was 7% of the grand total in 2000, 8% in 2004 and 9% in 2008.

This steady progression among a group that votes 2 to 1 Democrat sounds good for Obama, but this year Hispanic enthusiasm to vote has not only dropped, but the raw number of registered Hispanic voters has fallen by 6% since 2008.

Worse for Obama …..just 38% of Hispanics report being enthusiastic about voting in November…..

Right now African American enthusiasm is at 48% and Hispanic enthusiasm is at 38%. Unless these numbers turn around it makes no difference who they WANT to win because if they don't show up their candidate won't win which is good news for America.

One thing the Pollsters wont tell you is the dirty little hidden secret that Hispanics are by far more of a anti-black racist bent than whites.

Many of the would-be Obama boosters are sitting it out because Obama isn’t effectively lefty enough. He’s seen as a klutz more than as a powerhouse.

The Republican Party has had plenty of chances to appeal to Hispanic Catholics in much the same way Reagan appealed to the Moral Majority that brought Christian Democrats into the Party, and helped turn the South for a brief time. Those chances have been squandered by playing the illegals game. But play away. It probably doesn’t matter anymore.

Obama’s support of Trayvon Martin doesn’t help in that regard. Everyone knows that George Zimmerman is 1/2 Hispanic.

The ad is good, but I think it needs a voiceover. People are distracted and muultitasking at all times. Much of this ad will be lost on those who are used to “listening” to their TV, rather than watching.

Democrats don’t need any help from Hispanics to win the Catholic vote.

They are genetically inclined to vote Democrat. Most of them anyhow. The only thing that is pushing in the opposite direction are the weekly diatribes from the pulpit over Obama’s birth control mandate. And that is not even happening in every church.

If the SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare this will be off the table, and large numbers of Catholics will migrate back to the “D” column.

“If the SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare this will be off the table, and large numbers of Catholics will migrate back to the “D” column.”

For some this will be true, but for some of the others, there will remain a lingering doubt that will be strong enough to tilt the balance of their decision against Obama.
It will be a close election and small movements of voting groups will be important.

Do you live and work with Hispanics? I do.

I don’t know even one who will vote for Obama. The Obama/economy/clusterf*** has fallen on them heavily.

Ignore the leftist latino activists. They don’t represent the people.

Some Mexican immigrants have confided in me that they think the dims have been playing them for suckers on amnesty. The dims could easily have passed amnesty but did not. The dims know that if that issue is off the table a lot of Hispanics will go Republican.
