If Darrell Issa has any thoughts of the full House voting on his Oversight Committees citation of contempt against Eric Holder, he will first have to clear the idea with the Attorney Generals staunchest allies and political defendersRepublican Speaker John Boehner, Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Republican Majority Whip, Kevin McCarthy.
Upon the Speakers office being provided a draft of the citation last week, a spokesman for the Republican leadership said While there are very legitimate arguments to be made in favor of such an action, no decision has been made to move forward with one by the Speaker or by House Republican leaders. But now it appears these stalwart souls have finally made that decision. They will slow [Issas] drive to hold the attorney general in contempt over the controversial Fast and Furious program for a period of a month or even longer Apparently a years worth of testimony and documentation linking Obama Regime operatives to hundreds of deaths and the walking of some 2000 weapons across the Mexican border just havent been sufficient to convince Speaker Boehner that something is amiss. Maybe they’re ALL queers
So there will be much bloviating and maybe the odd sacrificial lamb here and there, possibily the odd "freak accident" or "suicide" but all the top criminal politicians will just sit back with their fat pensions and high paid government do-nothing jobs and continue to live the high life.
To suggest that even the president, holder etc are not above the law is pure naievete because THEY are the law.
All this to remind voters how corrupt the Obama Administration is. Now is not the time, keep the powder dry just a little longer.
A voice of reason and wisdom. Could not have said so well myself.
Thank you!!
Disagree; it is already boring the American public, and there will be other, more pressing worries by then.
It's now or dump the case in the nearest round receptacle or file it away under missed opportunity for the Republican control House to regain some authority.
The Democrats would not mind if a contempt charge is brought. It would be a distraction the the press would play to the hilt. They want everything in the news except the economy.
So how much do you think it took to buy off Boner?
I say the sonuvabitch has sold out.
“I wonder what’s in Boehner’s FBI files?”
A valid comment indeed.
Vote this pendejo out of office now.
Boehner is a nightmare.
“We do NOT want contempt charges now.”
My contention is that things like this move so slowly in D.C., if you filed charges now, you wouldn’t see anything done before 2015 anyway. Drop the hammer NOW!
If the Republican party wants to prove it is not simply the Democrat party with different letterhead they had best get together and get this jackass out of power right now.
EVERYTHING they do or don’t do is done so based on how it will affect them politically.
Perhaps, he's thinking that after the election, Holder will be gone anyway. So, Issa's contempt charge would turn out to be for naught.
I absolutely agree. This particular case is about the rule of law. He's slowly and deliberately undermining our rights, and he's doing this now. With each success he sets positions himself to do greater harm.
Politics be damned; excise this tumor.
DailyKos has a thread about once a month from a small market reporter who insists Boehner is boning some blonde lobbyist. He has dozens of videos of himself asking the Speaker about it, wit Boehner always ignoring it and looking quite irritated.
The fascist, socialist, marxist, left wing friends of Obama are evil and need to stop giving off CO2. RINO’s like Boehnor are worse.
That’s my thinking. They are delaying to get it closer to the convention and election. They better not prove me wrong.
But why do I get the feeling Boner isnt stalling for reasons you explain?
His great handling of the debt ceiling crisis?
“Does anyone think that he is delaying it to be closer to the election?”
No. I sure wish that were the case, but I just don’t believe Boehner has the guts.
Here’s something from FOX News: “Fox News reports that Boehner and House Republican Leader Eric Cantor do not want to deal with a contempt citation against Holder because its off message for them. Upholding their oath of office is off message?
and the link: http://www.gunreports.com/news/news/GOA-Offers-Link-to-Contact-Your-Rep_4049-1.html?CMP=OTC-RSS
So prosecuting a longtime thug responsible for hundreds of deaths would be “off message???” Unbelievable.
My understanding is that they can take this to a Federal judge, who can compel holder to release all FNF docs.
