In an unsurprising turn of events, a new poll released today shows that a mere 16% of American believe that are better off under the Presidency of Barack Obama than they were before it. The poll, performed by ABC News and the Washington Post, focused mainly on the economy.
Nearly twice as many people, 30%, said that they were worse off under the President. A slight majority, 53%, stated that they were "about the same" as before January 2009. The difference between the numbers is a clear demonstration of why the majority of Americans disapprove of the way Mr. Obama has handled the economy by a 55-42% margin; progress and economic advancement, two American trademarks, are missing during the Obama Presidency.
The poll also asked voters to speculate over whether a Romney Presidency would have resulted in a better economic situation. Nineteen percent of voters, or three percent more than Mr. Obama, thought they would be doing better. Twenty-two percent, or eight percent less than Mr. Obama, believed that they would be doing worse. A plurality of 48% stated that they would probably be doing about the same.
The poll released this graph to summarize their findings:

The 16% who are better off? Execs at Solindra, LightSquared, Goldman Sacs, Union Bosses (GM) — you know, the usual suspects.

Thanks therightliveswithus.
I gots my EBT, my EBT, my EBT yo! I gots my E-I, I gots my E-I....I gots my E-I-T-C, yo!
It would be interesting to see why the 16 percent think they are better off.
Yet... roughly half of voters still want him re-elected. Go figure.
I wonder if they were “obama” people.
Curiously, I saw a lot of “obama” people driving expensive new cars starting in the summer of 2009. It always struck me as very odd.
I do know that there were a lot of Acorn beneficiaries of the obama stash in 2009 and 2010. There were also a lot of less than $100k agricultural grants listed. Those under $100k do not have to be detailed.
It is a fact that one green grocer establishment was an empty building with an acorn sign on the door.
I’d really like to know who the 16% are and why they are better off.
The Left will spin this as a general feeling of contentment among Americans.
“A recently released poll finds 69% of Americans are either better off or no worse off since _resident Obama was inaugurated. Only 30% disagree, showing a general feeling of happiness with Obama’s policies”...
“16 percent think they are better off”....new government employees.
Not true. My income has tripped since Obama assumed office. I don’t make 6+ figures. I however know that Obama gets 0% of the credit for it. So if you ask me “are you better off today than you where in 2008” I would have to say yes. If you follow it up with “do you give Obama credit for it?” I would say No.
When in a down economy not all sectors go down with it. I am in the tech industry, networks still need to work, and computers still need to work at many places.
Now. the question you should be asking me next is.
“Do you think you would be doing better than you are today if Obama was not elected” Hell yes! would be my reply.
Thanks for the clarification.
