This is why Bloomberg has to spend $100 million to get elected (and still only won narrowly)

Do you think that New Yorkers have had about enough of Bloomberg yet?

Yes, we New Yorkers have had enough of Bloomberg. He is term-limited and will leave office at the end of this term.

Of course, my fellow New Yorkers will probably elect somebody worse.

I sincerely hope the judge is right.

I think Bloomberg and the nitwits who keep electing him would be happier in some European socialist hell hole. Why don't they just pack up and go there instead of trying to shrink America to fit their nightmare? Don't they know they're being laughed at from coast to coast?

Yeah, and seat belt laws would NEVER be allowed as a primary reason for a traffic stop. We just want non-smoking sections, it would NEVER be banned on private property...

Ooops, oh wait.....

OK Liberals...you wanna ban items because of the health impact on people AND the added costs to our health care system? Well, then let’s ban GAY SEX.... do you realize the health risks that are associated with that type of behavior and the COST BURDEN on health insurance: http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/homosexuality/ho0075.html

New Yorkers in general, and Manhattanites in particular, are the most narrow-thinking group of people I have ever met. Yes, it is a “post-modern” secularist and of course left-leaning orthodoxy, but overall the uniformity of opinion, the group think, and the response one sees to “incorrect” opinions are amazingly consistent among the majority of New Yorkers.

Liberal Argument against: But, but, you can’t ban a consensual act between two people for the sake of “health care costs” that would be mean!!

My Argument: Me and myself and a Can of Cola can either be two consenting adults or a threesome and damned if don;t enjoy and/or get a lot more pleasure out of drinking a Soda than I do having relations with another person. And gettign rid of excess fat is a lot easier than getting rid of an incurable life ending STD.

Liberal: .....

Me: Dind’t think of that did ya, liberal McIdiot!

The smoking outdoors ban is ridiculous. I spent the last few days in New York, and I noticed that there were a number of people sitting on park benches here and there sneaking a smoke, so maybe there’ll be a general rebellion against it.

Meanwhile, I noticed some genuine health hazards, such as the derelicts urinating in the phone enclosures and subway stairs, elderly immigrants hacking and spitting all over the place (spitting is known to spread TB, which is a problem in the immigrant Asian community), etc.

There are certainly some public health issues that do need legal enforcement, but “outdoor second-hand smoke” isn’t one of them.

You are correct. However, there is a growing group of closet conservatives that are “coming out.”

I practice medicine on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and when I give my opinions about Obamacare, or when my patients see the photos of my 2 active-duty military kids on the credenza, the floodgates open and they start to confess their true feelings.

Obama will win New York, but not by the same margin as in 2008.

I cast my first Presidential vote while still a New Yorker - I voted for Reagan. 4 years later, I repeated that vote, but by then I was living in Delaware - not exactly a hotbed of conservatism!

I, as a life long New Yawker am sick and tired of Nanny Bloomberg —first it was the smoking in bars (which I really didn't mind because I don't smoke. But then it is the war on trans fats and now sugary drinks. You think with all that money he could occupy himself with other pursuits. Nanny you're such a YENTA, go home and make some Kreplach. Yup, someone worse will come down the horse trail for our mayoral election next year. CHRISTINE QUINN -- our own Rosie O'Donnell has her eye on the office....or is it the orifice? She has no support in the boroughs...plus she was one of the main ones to jump on Bloomie's coattails regarding pissing on term limits which the folks voted for.

What you didn’t mind was the camel getting it’s nose in the tent and now you are getting the hump. We cannot ever be complacent when it comes to protecting freedom, or we will lose even more!

from observation, NYC population doesn't appear to have an obesity issue.
