WASHINGTON (AP) -- Last summer, gays in the military dared not admit their sexual orientation.
This summer, the Pentagon will salute them, marking gay pride month just as it marks other celebrations honoring racial or ethnic groups.

I don’t know about that. The Romans had to face battle with swords and spears, engineer and build bridges, and fight off vicious animals. Any queer can sit behind a desk, push a button, or sweep floors, which entails a vast majority of military jobs these days.
And the suicide rate among homos is also very high. Shouldn’t help the Army’s stats.

I remember our drill instructors trying to cram as many of us in the mess hall as possible by tightening the lines...ah, their melodious bass baritone harmonies haunt me still:
