The man who assured Senator Charles Grassley that no gunwalking had taken place during Operation Fast and Furious has just resigned from the Department of Justice. The allegation that ATF sanctioned or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them to Mexicois false, wrote Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich in his now infamous February 4th, 2011 letter to congress.
Nine months later the DOJ retracted that letter, advising congress it contained inaccuracies.
It was just 48 hours after news that a Contempt of Congress charge against Attorney General Eric Holder would be put to a House vote that Weich decided to end his Department of Justice career.
Confirmed by a 2009 Senate vote to his post in the Office of Legislative Affairs, Weich is the first of Barack Obamas Main Justice, political appointees to resign as a probable result of Fast and Furious involvement.
But the Departments Fast and Furious straw boss and cover-up technician is still at large.
Last week, Eric Holder asked to meet with Congressman Darrell Issa prior to Wednesdays Contempt vote in the House. Still claiming that Weichs denials of ATF misdeeds were the result of misinformation foisted on the Department by Phoenix, US Attorney Dennis Burke, Holder advised Issa that...

Hmmm....looks like Obama and Holder have decided who gets to go under the bus this time. Hopefully, Darrell Issa will not be distracted by this diversionary tactic and will stay focused on the main players!

IMO Weichshould not be allowed to justresign and walk out.
He should be taken by subponae for questioning and held responsible until he starts spilling the beans.
Now Carl might well have done all these things but he also promised to give up the guns he used and he told the cops exactly where they were.
The guns weren't there.
End of story. Carl's still in prison ~ and probably will be for many years.
This case involved the murder of a young lesbian lady who'd been a White House intern while Bill Clinton was President. She took a job at the Starbucks just down the street when she left her internship.
Here's a problem for everyone. At a later event when Bill Clinton held a hiring interview with a woman whose hubby had died two days before he didn't have any porcelein cups in the White House ~ just Starbucks cups.
Every time I go by a Starbucks I think of Eric Holder!
I just heard Jay Carney blame BUSH for Fast and Furious. :^/
Not to worry, Weich already has been offered a position as Dean of U. of Baltimore Law School.
Hit him with a subpeona NOW!
The SS Holder is now taking green water over the bow as the captain loses control of the ship and drifts straight for the reefs. The 'Rats' are starting to jump ship .... the dominoes have started to fall.
Ron Weich
That’s a face that could curdle milk.
Good luck with that Jay Clowney...
By invoking executive privilege the White House has now voluntarily stepped into the swamp that is Fast and Furious, its cover-up by the Justice Department and the discovery by Congress that the Eric Holder and his department engaged in a pattern of lies and obfuscation. Their willingness to drag the Bush administration into the mud with them completes the portrait of an administration lacking in any character and integrity.
Obama administration will invoke Bush in Fast and Furious defense
Likes like somebody used the ‘Pinch’ effect to Photoshop his face.
That is just freaky.
