Thanks to The Roberts Ruling, All That's Left Is Managing The Decline

If your planning on celebrating Independence Day today, I would suggest you do so as if you were attending a wake. After all, every reason we used to celebrate it has been destroyed. All those who died to defend the flag have died in vain, and those still fighting must ask themselves what are they putting their lives on the line for. I suggest they are now fighting for a future of rulers of America that will be managing the decline.

I used to celebrate the 4th of July by enjoying the freedom I was given by those who came before me, but how can I continue celebrating a victory that no longer exists? Regardless of what the establishment says, I cannot get past the fact that John Roberts has destroyed the constitution. That's why I will never be able to celebrate Independence Day again. All the blood that has been spilled by those who loved this country, from the Revolution to the war against terrorism, has been shed in vain.

Regardless of what is actually inside Obamacare, the real death blow to the constitution was John Robert's illogical and very unwise decision. In my lifetime, only Roe vs Wade even comes close to the damage this ruling has done. However, even when you take into consideration the 50 some odd million babies aborted since Roe became the law in 1973, it will pale in comparison to the damage Roberts ruling will have done in next 40 to 50 years. Speaking of Roe vs Wade, if anyone still thinks that Roberts would ever vote to end abortion, I have some ocean front property in Arizona for sale you might want to consider buying.

I remember when it was reported that the Supreme Court legalized abortion. There was a lot of discussion about the ruling, and most Americans disagreed with the ruling and they voiced their opinion that the Justices who sided with such a terrible decision needed to be impeached. I even remember a heated argument between the man I worked for at Anderson Lumber and a client about the need to impeach the two Justices who wrote the majority opinions, Burger and Douglas. A few years later Americans thought that it was just a matter of time before Roe would be reversed when Reagan was elected in 1980.

After all, Reagan ran on a platform where he promised to end the judicial activism of the Burger Court by only appointing judges who were opposed to abortion.  So when he got the chance, he appointed Sandra Day O'Conner, Antonin Scalia, and Anthony Kennedy to the court. It wouldn't be until 1992 that Regan's conservative court would get a chance to do what the vast majority of Americans expected them to do, but like Roberts last week, the will of the American people would be rejected. When the Court ruled on Planned Parenthood vs Casey, they would reaffirm a woman's right to end pregnancy in early stages and made it clear that a total ban on abortion would be found unconstitutional.

The ruling became an unexpected defeat for Conservatives who had high hopes of seeing an end to the abortion industry in America, because we believed Reagan would appoint judges who would change things. Instead of a 6-3 majority voting to uphold life, we saw two of Reagan's three appointees join one of George H. Bush's Justices in upholding Roe v. Wade by a five to four decision. O'Connor, Kennedy, Souter, Blackmun and Stevens voted to keep Roe as the law of the land, while Rehnquist, White, Scalia and Thomas voted to toss it out. What still stands out as a shocker to this day, is the fact that there were 7 Justices appointed by Republicans involved in that 1992 ruling, while the lone Democrat appointee, White, voted with the dissent.

If ever there was an example of how difficult it is to uphold the constitution and defend the rights of Americans, it was the 1992 ruling of on Planned Parenthood vs Casey.  It has been 20 years since that ruling, and we are still looking for another chance to end the legalized murder of over a million babies a year in America. Now that we know where Roberts loyalty lies, Imagine how long it will take to reverse the damage he did to the constitution and our rights with his ruling?

As of today in America, we can be forced to do what ever the federal government demands, as long it is done for the purpose of taxation. We can be forced by congress to buy anything they want us to purchase, do anything they want us to do, or live any way they want us to live. In essence, we have just become slaves to the state!  Karl Marx and every Communist/Fascist/Nazi/Totalitarian who has ever hated America and capitalism is dancing in the streets today. Even the ones who have died and went to hell are dancing the jig with Satan over this ruling!

Even if we get a super majority of Republicans in the House and Senate, and we elect Mitt Romney as the next president, the most they can do is end Obamacare, but that is all. Let's say president Romney gets a chance to appoint three Supreme Court Justices like Reagan did. Does anyone really expect him do have a better record of appointing true constructionist conservatives than Reagan did?

They say it takes an average of about 40 to 50 years to reverse a bad Supreme Court ruling. Mark my word, before this ignorant ruling even gets revisited, there will have been so much damage done to our freedoms that those of us alive will not even recognize this country.

So on this 4th of July I will be flying my flag upside down as a sign of distress while I reminisce about the freedoms I once enjoyed, because this ship is sinking and all we have left is a future of politicians who will manage the decline.

I have never been one to advocate violence, but I think it was Jefferson who is quoted as saying,
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
When I think of revolting against our wayward leaders, I wonder if maybe Timothy McVeigh targeted the wrong federal building.

I see this as pessimism out of control. Direct that energy toward reforming your local political scene and then pray and work for the upcoming federal elections.

Congress can control the SCOTUS, if it has the will. The bolded part at the end is perhaps the least appreciated sentence in the entire Constitution.

U.S. Constitution, Article 3 Section 2:

The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority;--to all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls;--to all Cases of admiralty and maritime Jurisdiction;--to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party;--to Controversies between two or more States;-- between a State and Citizens of another State,--between Citizens of different States,--between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects.

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

"...with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make."

Enough Tea Party Patriots could lead a new Congress, and put the SCOTUS back into its box. The USA was never intended to become a tyranny of five judges. It's in the Constitution: The Congress is superior to the SCOTUS. There are NOT "three co-equal branches" as most believe.

If there was a level worse than “out of control,” I’d say it’s that. I can’t believe the wailing and crying on this forum.

What a bunch of utter pussies so many FReepers have turned out to be.

Not sure we’re on the same side, but I SO agree with you.

It is ridiculous.

As a college professor I absolutely refuse to indoctrinate my studente into anything but independent thinking. I’m preparing as many of them as possible to become members of the 1% club.

I hear you! I like this quote from your home page:

“Even Islamic terrorists don’t hate America like liberals do. They don’t have the energy. If they had that much energy, they’d have indoor plumbing by now.” —Ann Coulter

I truly believe this about liberals. Conservative patriots have much more energy and commitment than liberals. I truly believe we can work harder than they do....even though we also have paying job schedules (unlike the majority of those with their worldview).

THIS is the election to *outwork* them (semi-pun intended).

;-)))

I couldn't agree with both of you more - with one exception. I think it is only a few FReepers who have lost the spirit.

I hear a number of pussies out there, but for me, my family, and all that I can influence, the fight is on. It didn't start yesterday or even in 2008 and it won't end after the November election when the current occupant of our White House is sent packing, but when I die.

It's been awhile since I wrote anything I have felt like sharing, but has been bouncing around my head since the SC ruling. I truly believe Roberts ruling has killed our freedom. Well, regardless of what my activities will entail today, I do pray that you all have a wonderful time today, and may God bless each and everyone of you.

America peaked socially between 1960 and 1970. Financially it was 1970 to 1980.

Since then the Feds and States have been managing those declines.

Actually, I concur. However, I AM aware that there is a concerted effort online (particularly in forums like this) by liberals to dishearten, divide and discredit the conservative viewpoint. Unfortunately, some genuinely nice conservatives can get (and have gotten) caught up into that emotionally-based thinking. Hopefully, they will soon shake it off and begin the necessary EFFORT involved in cleaning up our government.

"They" are now saying Roberts wrote the majority opinion and the combined dissent.

It's all one guy who has seizures and is either off his meds or overdosing for recreation!

However, it is symptomatic of having seizures!

So, what to think, what to think ~ hey, I got a clue ~ get a new Justice and make sure we run a guy or gal who will appoint a Conservative.

-—All those who died to defend the flag have died in vain,-—

I for one would say that the death of any service person (or civilian) who lost their life defending our liberty was not marked by futility. I greatly appreciate the 57 years of freedom they bestowed on me.

I know we can win the Senate and add to our majority in the House, I actually think Romney will win in a landslide almost as big as Reagan did. I even believe they will kill Obamacare, but then replace it with his vision.

However, the damage is not Obamacare, it was the unlimited power the ruling gave the federal government. If you think we will always have Republicans, or even conservatives holding their toes to the fire so the fed does not get out of control you are sadly mistaken my FRiends.

Even Americans will eventually stop paying attention as they did when Bush became president, why else do you think Democrats regained control and a Marxist Muslim got elected. I am not a pansy, and i am not giving up, but I am a realist and i see what we have done in the past, and I know what the future has in store for us, and the Genie will never be put back into the bottle. Unless we do it by force some day.

If they can tax you whether or not you have insurance, they can tax you whether or not you have babies. They can tax you whether or not you have flu shots. They can tax you whether or not you have solar panels.

This is so far from the intent of the founding fathers, it’s unbelievable! George III couldn’t have imagined this in his wildest dreams!

We truly are serfs now.

I have always been a realist...and mentioning/advocating force at this juncture is not called for. AND...it plays right into the hands of those who wish to categorize conservatives as “right-wing terrorists.”

Besides, we CAN accomplish the goal of getting the country back on the path of authentic freedom....with prayer, hard work...and the understanding that this means a LONG-TERM commitment.

If your planning on celebrating Independence Day today, I would suggest...

I would suggest learning the difference in your and you're. Patriots need to learn to sweat the details. The reason the left is winning is that they're out-hustling us. We need to treat this thing like a religion, as they do. No stupid mistakes.
