We're being prepared for a national emergency. Then there's taking control. I personally think that what Obama is doing goes way beyond being prepared. North Carolina governor Beverly Perdue ...suggested that perhaps elections should be suspended for two years by canceling, until the economy recovers, the 2012 elections. After that remark got the reception it deserved, SNIP Former White House director of the Office of Management and Budget Peter Orszag, who, on September 14, 2011, in a The New Republic article entitled "Too Much of a Good Thing: Why we need less democracy," said that we are that we are hampered by too much democracy, that the constitutional system (not really a democracy) is too slow to react, and the deliberations and negotiations are simply too cumbersome. Orszag suggests that the constitutional rules of limiting government offers impediments to autocratic, dictatorial actions, and are just too great. That North Carolina governor Perdue would even joke (if it was a joke) about canceling an election is frightening enough, but that Orszag, a former official in Obama's administration, believes that doing away with the US Constitution is a viable solution should cause every AT reader to quake. I'm never comfortable with laws that give the government broad reaching powers in the event of a "national emergency," especially when there is no clear, set, unchangeable definition of what actually constitutes a "national emergency." Circumvention of the US Constitution by any means possible is the ultimate goal of Democrats and the Obama administration because the 2012 election is shaping up to be a repeat of the 2010 election. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but these three latest EOs and previous EOs Obama signed, coupled with Perdue's and Orszag's comments, suggest that something besides coincidence is going on.

Then every small business owner ought to have a temporary RIF starting now and tell those who are laid off that it’s because of the economy. Do this in key States and you’ll have a sure win.
It really is the patriotic thing to do since we are at risk of losing our country. We take men and women out of the work force to fight wars. Why not take them out of the work force to fight the internal war that is being waged at home?
And then there is the blanket amnesty for illegals, unguarded borders (closed 9 border stations a couple weeks ago?), and the rumor of 40,000 terrorist sleepers in South America, no doubt waiting for the signal to storm our border. Since they are similar at a glance to the other border crossers, who will stop and question them? Our LEO’s have been warned to back off or be sued.
If only Fast & Furious would have worked as planned for them, we would be totally defenseless too.

I agree with you, God raised up this little tinpot dictator Obama. And as with Pharaoh, this tyrant will get his comeuppance, but it will be in God’s time. My prayer is that it happens in time to save this country, but that may not be His will. We may be in for an extended season of trial, even oppression. God may wipe out this unfaithful generation. Ought - Oh, I’ve been hearing remarks on our local newspaper web site, about “hyper-democracy”. I made fun of the poster, but I wondered at the time if this was a talking point that the guy was hearing from his union leaders. Now, I am beginning to think that it is. I think that the left is actually considering using this.

This article disturbed me, as well. On Twitter I’ve seen posts that cite “900” as the number of EO’s Obama has signed. If I go to the Federal Register, they say he has signed just over 100, none of which carry the numbers cited on various internet sources I’ve seen. Granted, the Executive Orders are each very long and complicated, but I’d like very much to know the source of all these orders, especially things like #11004 wherein Housing & Finance are given authority to relocate people and establish new locations for populations, and #11000 allowing for the creation of government-supervised civilian work brigades (those two chilled me to the bone!). If all are true, the coup is a *done deal*.
I am not so naive as to think every EO is available to the public at the Federal Register, considering national security concerns, and some - perhaps most - are classified. But where are all these people getting their information? What am I missing, here???

Obama’s first Executive order was 13489 and the last numbered EO is 13619. There is one additional EO that hasn’t received a number yet - dated July 20, 2012.

Keep in mind that some EO’s from previous presidents have been revoked or amended by presidents who follow. So just because the EO is on the list doesn’t necessarily mean that it is still in effect.

Executive Orders have been used by every chief executive since the time of George Washington. Most of these directives were unpublished and were only seen by the agencies involved. In the early 1900s, the State Department began numbering them; there are now over 13,000 numbered orders. Orders were retroactively numbered going back to 1862 when President Lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus and issued the Emancipation Proclamation by Executive Order. There are also many other Executive Orders that have not been numbered because they have been lost due to bad record-keeping. Such is not the problem today. All new Executive Orders are easily accessible (see below).
