I have been interviewed by Howard Stern, and I thought that was pretty strange. This interview was even more bizarre. Mediaite has the entire 16 minute video available here. How does Mediaite describe the interview:
Morgan kept grilling Lott over his premise that gun control will not help stem violence, and that having more guns out there will lead to less crime. Lott tried to rebut the points Dershowitz and Morgan were making, but Morgan repeatedly interrupted him to get Lott to answer his questions and telling Lott that he was spouting “nonsense.” Lott tried to explain the difference between semi-automatic and automatic weapons to Morgan, while Morgan and Dershowitz argued that civilians should not be allowed access to guns with that speed and ammo capacity. Another point Lott tried to make during the interview was that while England has less gun deaths per year than the United States, they had much less before they implemented gun control. . . .

Expect to see moves from several directions to get America's guns. Obama has stated it is a good idea.
We must not bow to changes in our Constitution in this regard. Firearms once registered and seized ... then it is too late to ever get them back. Personal protection is necessary in this day and age. Crimes and home invasions are up in numbers.
I don’t usually watch CNN or Pierce Morgan, but was curious.
This interview wasn’t an interview but a slam session against Lott, against guns, and the second amendment in general and ‘assault weapons’ in specific.
Lott couldn’t get a word in at all, and Morgan’s other guest just ganged up on Lott with Morgan. Lott could hardly finish a sentence or a thought.
There was no intention to interview Lott. There was no conversation with an exchange of ideas. This was a shout down session, and nothing more.
Expect major legislation attempted for semi-autos of all types and magazines more than 10 rounds.
Here we go again...
Piers Morgan was amazing there. He was grand standing and saying the same thing over and over again. I loved when Lott asked him if he was going to filibuster or let him answer. :-)
I get the feeling that when they set up this interview they thought he and Dershowitz were going to intimidate him, but they were not successful. He held his own beautifully.
I may have been a bit more agressive than he was but to each his own.
They were trying to tag-team him but were unsuccessfully. I loved the way he slipped in zingers over the Dershowitz filibustering.
This is an offshoot of the tired old canard that, "When the founders wrote the second amendment, they could not have envisioned today's weapons."
It is easily rebutted by arguing that when they wrote the first amendment, they could not have envisioned radio, television or the internet, but yet we still insist on granting them, freedom of the "press."
I just finished it. Lott was impressive. And the whole time I was listening I was cracking up because regardless of what Morgan and Dershowitz said, the fact is that gun sales are way up since the shooting.
The People are voting with their wallets.
I wanted to scream at Lott, if he could hear and get out a complete sentence before being interrupted;
-Switzerland has no crime, and every household has fully automatic an assault rifle and a tin of ammunition as minimum.
-When Pierce started bragging about English law and their low gun crime rate, Lott should have screamed (it seems to be the only way to communicate with a lib) about the ‘hot break-in’ epidemic in England, where homes are broken into while occupied by their owners, who quickly become victims, like in “A Clockwork Orange”.
+ how gun laws just empower criminals with other weapons or just their prison conditioned superior strength against the elderly, women in general or the weak or sick.
+ How in glorious England legislation on kitchen knives over 6 inches long is using the same logic as gun control advocates.
I believe that they are tring to control the internet and have already established partial control over TV and Radio.
I haven’t finished watching the video, but I’m going to bet that John Lott didn’t bring up the single biggest factor explaining the difference in homicide between England and the US: demographics. Mainly because he would have been toast if he mentioned That Which May Not Be Discussed in Main Stream Media.
The truth is the 2nd amendment was given SO THAT...
We could attack the federal givernment not local varmints..
So that we could attack tyranny from within...
When the federal givernment became our greatest enemy..
For the EXACT situation we presently face..
Thats WHY its the 2nd amendment and not the 3rd or 4th...
He recently interviewed Justice Scalia, a couple of times Scalia laughted at him...especially when Morgan said the media was neturtal....Scalia has a new book coming out with a co-writer.....
Most "news" sites are slowly going to Facebook commenting, and the like.

My wife once thought the Piers Morgan would be more professional than the other leftists at CNN. Boy did he surprise her last night.
I am suspicious of British fops who appear on leftist cable TV shows. Morgan proved that marxism is really deep in the British media.
Dershowitz continues to prove that he is just a dumb liberal who gets something right once in a while, like a broken clock.

PS: I don’t care if Anderson Cooper is gay, unhappy, a Martian, or a Rastafarian, he’s just a leftist loser. Sort of the leftist equivalent of Geraldo Rivera.
