Timid House Republicans refuse to defund ObamaCare

Determined as always to travel the safest, least contentious path to their own re-election, House Speaker John Boehner, Majority leader Eric Cantor and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy have decided that the Party will do NOTHING to defund ObamaCare when current, federal funding legislation expires on September 30th.

Thirty times over the past two years the House has voted to repeal the President’s “Affordable” Care Act. Of course, on each occasion Republican leaders were secure in the knowledge that the measure had NO chance of passing the Democrat controlled Senate or collecting the signature of Barack Obama. And this was of supreme importance to these stout-hearted, GOP Representatives as it meant none of the scheduled votes would raise the ire of the Party’s most feared and potent foe—the dreaded national media.

For were the landmark legislation of their Marxist icon to REALLY be threatened by some Republican scheme, the New York Times and its left-wing colleagues might...

A tragic decision. Hopefully they’ll change their minds and defund this horrible law (that’s causing layoffs and depressing our economy)

Terrified is more like it. I fear it will be up to a new
Republican President to show some nerve.

This was discussed the other day. Sen. DeMint (R-SC) went on Mark Levin to explain his thinking on it.

DeMint said fund the Govt along with the bill until February of 2013 then repeal it.

Also, Mark Levin forgot he had done this, but there was a paper that Mark posted on his facebook page in November 2010 and a new article at The American Thinker saying that defunding it will not kill and actually make it worse.

To get back to DeMint, DeMint said he wanted to avoid the issue of funding the Govt in a lame duck session and wanted to make sure a bad deal was not made by “weak Republicans”.

Before people criticize DeMint, remember DeMint is actually doing something other than talking about.

And, thus, the reason we need to have strict term limits enacted. If thses spineless jelly fish in the House could serve ONLY two terms (for a total of 4 years!), they might be a little bolder in their decisions about doing what's best for America and the majority of its citizens.

But, instead of bold statesmen, the GOP gives us jellyfish afraid of their own shadows!

Hey, 'Pubbie wimps - what happens if your spineless decision ends up with the voters in your states deciding that they want ANYONE else who is more decisive and more deeply committed to conservatism!?? So, all of your protectionism for your jobs STILL gets you permanently sent to the showers!!! Didja EVER consider that, you ignorant fools!!???

GOP = Gutless Old People!!

Absolutely no surprise here. Harkens back to the time that the Republican held Senate voted not to have a real trial for the then Impeached President Bill Xlinton!
