Adam Smith, the jerk from the video we posted earlier today, has been fired from his job as CFO of Vante. TUCSON, AZ--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - The following is a statement from Vante:
Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.

I’m sure we won’t see a press release from U of A, but I googled Adam Smith, limited to the Eller School (part of University of AZ) .edu website, and it showed a hit on the faculty directory page. I go to the page and he’s gone.
Will msnbc or Cnn OR Shep interview this guy about his free speech being denied by Vante? Oh, the irony.
By the way, Vante had the right to fire him as his actions were having a negative effect on the company.

It may have seemed asinine at the time when there was the national movement against bullying - especially when it was hijacked by militant GLBT activists who insisted only GBLT youth deal with severe bullying - but the thing is, bullying among youth and adults of all ages, I think, is actually much more severe and emotionally and psychologically deadly than it was in the the good ole days, i.e. 60s, 50s and earlier. The rise of narcissism and self entitlement - largely a byproduct of the Self Esteem movement - has led to bullying that much more often goes straight for the jugular and us meant to physically and mentally destroy people. So while I am against the govt acting like it needs to be the first to help, I suspect it actually HAS become a national crisis.

Did this guy think that the people preparing orders have anything to do with company policy? How about writing a letter, getting signatures on a petition, anything other than berating an innocent person.
