Voters Turned Away As Citizenship Box Creates Confusion At The Polls

LANSING (WWJ) – Some voters have reportedly been turned away from the polls on Michigan’s primary election day for refusing to fill out the new “citizenship” box on their ballot application.

Jocelyn Bensen, Director of the Michigan Center for Election Law, said they’ve been taking calls from confused voters across the state regarding this issue. She’s criticizing the Secretary of State’s office for failing to remind clerks that voters who decline to fill out the citizenship box must still be allowed to cast a ballot.

“It has been the number one issue that we received calls on this morning,” Bensen told WWJ Newsradio 950. “And that’s why we contacted the Secretary of State’s office’s again today, urging the office to issue a clarifying statement, which they finally did at around noon.”

A spokesperson for the Secretary of State’s office said clerks at “some precincts” were reminded about how to handle the citizenship question.

I voted this morning, and I didn’t even have to think about my answer to that question. I’m highly suspicious of how many calls they got about this. And why would someone think to call her???? She is the woman who ran on the democrat ticket for SOS in the last election, so I’m skeptical.

Fortunately this is a fight our secretary of state won over the Albino idiot who is our governor. He didn't want to do this. The fact is, the box has been there all along and the only difference is that poll workers are required to point it out.

Only Demonrat voters are confused about their citizenship.

...and/or about their ultimate loyalties.

Either you’re a citizen, or you aren’t. It wasn’t rocket science, just color in the correct orb—Yes or no. Why should the ACLU get involved in such a simple question?

I know, it’s tough if you’re trying to lie. If a person was trying out for fraud...too bad for him.

Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has said the question serves to clear up any confusion among some of non-U.S. Citizens who were under the impression that they could vote because they were asked to register at a Secretary of State.............Most likely these non-US citizens were told they could vote as long as they voted for Obama.

" ... for refusing to fill out the new “citizenship” box on their ballot application. "

Let me guess ...

This was a an issue that ended up on a ballot and the people of Michigan VOTED TO HAVE IT AS PART OF THE BALLOT !!

So obviously, these that are REFUSING, did not vote for it (for whatever reason) .. or didn't vote .. period !

Either way, they have no standing.

Jocelyn Bensen was the Soros Secretary of state project candidate.

Ruth Johnson wisely ran in part against Benson being a Soros puppet and even showed Soros in campaign ads.

Yes, expect a judge shortly to issue an order keeping certain polling stations in certain precincts open an additional two hours.

Are you a U.S. citizen? YES____ NO_____

and you color in the correct answer. They won’t let you in to the polling place unless you answer that. I asked what would happen if I answered “no” and my UPS man (he works the polls) said then you have to go see THAT lady.... and pointed out the one in charge of the process.

I’m glad they are doing it. Also glad we had to show photo ID!!
