Remove the Media from the Debates
PJ Media ^ | 8/13/12 | Roger L Simon

I was appalled, although not surprised, to read the just announced list of moderators for the forthcoming presidential debates: Jim Lehrer of PBS, Candy Crowley of CNN, Bob Schieffer of CBS, and Martha Raddatz of ABC (VP debate).

All liberals from liberal news organizations. Not even a token representative from Fox or the Wall Street Journal – not in the moderator seat anyway.

Don’t we live in a democracy? Or is this Syria or Egypt where its new Islamist president just wrested power from the military?
**snip**

But there is something we can do about it even at this late date: protest and protest loudly. In this manner, we highlight the bogus quality of the debates. Even if our candidates perform better than the opposition, continue the protest. They can talk about the economy. We can still protest the bias.

Demand the moderators be removed even if they are not. As Churchill told us, never, ever give up. Someone might even be listening. And that someone is the American people.

Have NO moderators. Have six questions in each two debate. First man speaks for 5 minutes, 10 minutes by the second guy,and the 5 minutes by the first speaker. Alternate this. Each side proposes three questions or an alternative (four questions three of which three are randomly picked).

Appalled? How about Dismayed, Shocked, Flabbergasted, Dumfounded. What the hell is wrong with the Romney people? Have they all got their heads up their A$$ to agree to this? All these so-called moderators are SCHLOCK, PINKO, LIBS who will surely try to sque the debates toward Dumbo. Rediculous. NOT GOING TO WATCH!! Don't want to clean up the puke on the floor.

This is an inside the beltway pick from the broadcast media selection pool so that these ‘debates’ (they are NOT classically defined debates) get broadcast on their channels. This is a legacy of ‘old-think’ from back when the Big Three ruled the roost ‘and’ add the non-partisan publicly funded PBS as well! Gee, these selectors must really be kept in hibernation until each election season.

Thanks for that excellent background info. I’d forgotten about the “non-partisan” Commission. It’s time to trash that, start over, and avoid at all costs TV network and major newspaper “moderators.”

Oops - They include CNN, I guess they are thinking of the Ted Turner era as well. Still a stinkeroo and obviously plays to the Big Blue Meanies of the Dem affiliates. Any bets as to when these 'moderators' last voted GOP?

Romney, if he didn't already know the outcome planned for him in this election, would be wise to BACK OUT OF ALL THE DEBATES!

Exactly. Call a news conference and tell them loud and clear, "Oh hell no!!!"

We have a lot of Nevada people involved in this business of stuffing Romney into the White House.

They'll demand a continuation of the federal nuclear waste policy which KEEPS IT OUT OF NEVADA on an eternally temporary basis (the hole is dug and ready to be filled).

None of the gaming interests want a big hole in the ground out there full of nuclear waste ~ which they're going to get the minute they let down their guard. They've had a good ride with Harry Reid but that's coming to an end.

There ~ the mystery is solved. Co-chairman Fahrenkopf is FOR moderators who will not venture beyond Mitt's intellectual capabilities or wooden personality. Sheldon Adelson, the big money guy behind Romney certainly doesn't want the Sands Hotel complex to glow green in the dark (unless, of course, it's from all the money they rake in)

I tell you, if they drop their guard a second, or think their money is better off in a bank than being spent by faithless politicians, we must strike hard ~ this time I want a full meter's depth to that radioactive waste being pumped into Nevada!

Teach these punks to mess with the rest of us.

Goode has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the republicans got a good deal with pbs, cbs, cnn, and abc.

It’s like saying that the Miami Dolphins got a great deal with Chad Johnson because Esiason doesn’t like Tebow.

They’re not related.

You wasted lots of time with the dumbest, most fraudulent list ever.

That list is all too accurate. It's based on actual FReeper comments.

And contacting the Executive Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates is a waste of time.

Unfortunately the Republicans gave up their best chance to force the public to see that the media is biased when the primary candidates walked away from Trump’s offer to host a debate.

It’s sort of amazing, isn’t it, to watch the stupid party do the same things over and over again and expect different results.

“We DO NEED a professional moderator who does not get into gotcha questions.”

It would certainly give me a good reason to watch. Right now, even listening makes me puke.

Janet H. Brown is the Executive Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates.

I won't waste my time contacting this person; no doubt a lefty to begin with.

No my ire (and in no uncertain terms and not exactly nice language) is going to be aimed directly toward the RNC with a cc: to Mitt and Ryan, though I doubt Ryan had anything to do with it, I'm certain Mitt or his holdover, RINO, a-holes from Juan McLame's campaign agreed.
