Joe Klein (author of "The Amateur")said his sources in the Clinton camp told him that Jarrett invited Hillary to lunch two weeks ago and asked her if she would accept the VP slot to replace Biden. Hillary refused to encourage an offer.
Klein said that Bill and Jarrett (and it is assumed Michelle and Barry) were for it, but Hillary figured that if Obama lost, she would be finished and she wanted to preserve her options for 2016.

The WH put this out because Sarah Palin had suggested the other day that the Obama team replace Biden with Clinton. Should they go with Clinton they could say that they did so not because Palin had suggested it.
In terms of how it comes across on TV, I disagree that Ryan will wipe the floor with Biden. Biden is very, very slick. He makes stuff up with even missing a beat, and it’s impossible — as Gingrich found with Romney — to deal with someone who flat out lies in the middle of a debate.
In Biden’s case, he’s so slick that no one can call him on it.
Remember the foreign policy piece of his debate with Palin when the came out with the “fact” that we’d spent more in 3 weeks on Iraq than we had in all of the Aghan conflict up to that point. That was so wrong, but people don’t have those numbers at their fingertips, and the MEDIA would never call him on it.
So, this Biden/Ryan debate will not be a cakewalk.
And you can bet that the liberal moderators will slant every question toward foreign policy and away from budget, jobs, economy, etc. They’ll avoid Ryan’s strengths.

She’s been a serious road warrior both in the 08 campaign and as SoS. That’s tough duty, even with private jets and 5 star hotels, for someone near 65.
Throw in the energy needed to keep Huma happy, and I’m not at all surprised she’s looking rode hard and put away wet.

The Huma issue is a lttle harder for her to shed. But since the CIC cuddles up to the Muslim Brotherhood with no criticism there might not be a problem with suppoters.
If we see her losing weight and fixing her hair..it might be time to worry.

I’ve lived in DC for 20 years (save three) and I’ve worked in politics for ten of those. I’ve had the experience of working with a lot of real true-blue America loving conservatives and I’ve also had to work with democrats. Several of them were close to Hillary and I can tell you that if she thought the ticket was a winner, she would have taken the job. Given the fact that Obama is a miserable failure, I predicted that she would leave in 2011, write a book and run against that guy that her husband felt should be getting them coffee.
I think she missed her opportunity and she doesn’t want more of this administration hung over her shoulders than already is. Unless Joe takes a trip to Ft Marcy Park, she’ll have to wait.
