Why did Barack Obama lie about never using the name Barry Soetoro on his Registration with the Illinois Bar Association? "Full Former names" is the second question on the ATTORNEY'S REGISTRATION AND PUBLIC DISCIPLINARY RECORD.
However, instead of Listing "Barry Soetoro," he wrote the word "NONE" on the "Former Names Used" line.
The Bar wants to know EVERYTHING on the background about its members, and generally do not look kindly on deception by applicants or members. This could have lead to more questions about "Barry Soetoro" if he disclosed that name. Such as, when, where, and how was it used. There could have been requests by the Bar for supporting documents that were used with than name which could prove embarrassing.

According to Snopes he used Obama at Occidental. I don’t know what he used at the uppity private HS he attended, but it doesn’t matter. Until he was 18 he was a minor and any name used would be the legal responsibility of parent or legal guardian. If he chose Obama after 18, he can truthfully claim it is the only name he used because it’s the only name he identified himself with after majority.. The questionnaire asks names YOU used not names AKA. There’s a legal difference.
I wonder if Chris Mathews will get a thrill up his leg when he asks Barry about this.

And....with convincing ease. I believe they develop a psychological mechanism over time that conditions them to accept their own lies as fact, especially when it helps them to attain a personal objective. Obama’s innumerable “contradictions” are certainly evidence of that.

According to the punahou yearbook his name on his graduating photo was Barack Obama. I don’t think he used Soetoro in high school. I think he was called Barry at Oxy but still with the last name of Obama. It was very cool for blacks to have African names. He was really trying to be black by that point.

My brother’s first name is Robert....EVERYONE has ALWAYS called him Mike ( a shortened version of his middle name Michael). He has gone by this name his whole life. If you ask him what his name is he would say Mike.

You know from my posting history I reject Mitt for his idolatry, and will not vote for him. However, just to be fair, a given name can be changed simply by usage. If someone was named Willard on their BC, but was always called Mitt, under the principle of common law name change, Mitt really is their name. Evidence goes to things like driver’s license, passports, checking, usage among friends, etc.
So without having the precise wording of what he said to the interviewer, it is premature and probably incorrect to assume he was lying about that particular point.
Well, I’ll have to give that every bit of consideration it is due.
A lie is a lie NO matter what the question. Evasive is lying. Prevaricating is lying. Politicians in general seem quite adept at this.
