Turn Out The Lights: The Grand Old Party Is Over
markamerica.com Blog ^ | August 28th, 201 | Mark America

That’s it. You can shut down the convention right now. It’s over. Romney’s camp just shut down all dissent, and they rigged it that way. Twitter is awash in angry tweets from people who know this was a sham. John Boehner actually wielded the gavel without a hint of a tear as he said “the ayes have it.” They didn’t have it, and I think it was pretty clear that even if they did, this was a set-up. I have news for the GOP establishment. I am voting in November. I will vote for all the down-ballot candidates who are worthy of my support. I am not going to vote for Mitt Romney. Don’t look at the page as though you’ve read the words of a man pledging treason. It was not I who rigged the primaries. It was not I who rigged the convention. It was not I who rigged the rules committee. All of those things are actual treasons against the conservatives in the America, and all of those things were carried out by Mitt Romney and his legion. I am a small matter to it, but I will have my say. If the Republican party wishes to commit suicide by Romney, they may do so, but they will do so without my help in the matter. John Boehner may have enjoyed his moment in despotic pleasure, and Reince Priebus may have been doing his masters’ bidding, but Mitt Romney had it within his power to put a stop to all of this, but when tested by circumstance, Mitt Romney’s fatal character flaws prevailed.

The Republican Party is dead. It’s time we get on with this convention and consider it a funeral. You’re witnessing a party that will now fall, and I’m going to help it on its way. Some of you diehard Republicans who read this blog may wish to find other haunts. It’s not going to be pretty. When I saw John Sununu begin to surface with regularity on Fox News over the last few weeks, I suspected the fix was in. His conduct of the RNC Rules Committee on Tuesday demonstrates that fact.

I am a person who refuses to separate his convictions from his actions and choices. Mitt Romney could have done many things to gain my support, and the support of many others, but rather than do so, he seized control. He used all his pals and buddies to take over and make the voices of grass-roots Republicans and Tea Party conservatives silent. Some will urge that we remain focused on November, and I agree, but my focus is irrevocably changed. I am out to defeat the GOP establishment in any and every form that may take.

Note to conservatives: I will understand if you swallow your pride and your principles and vote for Mitt Romney, but do not come to this site to chastise me or others who refuse to join you. Your argument had consisted of convincing us that the Romnoids wouldn’t behave this way, and at precisely that moment when they needed to prove it, they behaved precisely as we dissenters knew that they would. Save it.

Romney had his chance. Today, he blew it.

This Mark America bozo may be a good guy but his position and rant does NOTHING to get that CLOWN out of the White House.

Just more wasted bandwidth that does little but agitate and frustrate 'the choir' with his obvious BS.

What ARE you talking about? The convention wasn’t rigged, that is an insane claim. Romney has had the delegates for months now.

As for your threats, whatever. You can work for the idiotic Oblahma, and I’ll work for President Romney.

Both parties are the same at the top and it’s come to the point where you’d have to be pretty heavily deluded not to see it. Mutt is a liberal globalist but if you want to slow down the drive over the cliff by a few mph you’re in a position where you have to vote for him.

It’s quite a dilemma because how are things ever going to change unless something very drastic happens to the Rep party? When do you pull totally pull your support to send a strong message? Like the economy, I think it’s too late. They’ve got you where they want you and it’s only going to get worse.

We need to start a strong third party that really cares about this country’s principles NOW. We need to have an alternative to offer in 2016. I think that after the cluster that this convention has turned into, there would be enough to get it done.

“I really think Mitt will destroy this country faster than Obama can.”

You can make a wild, unsupportable statement like this and then excoriate me and claim that somehow THIS conservative has “drunk the kool-aid”

Your behavior is not that of a conservative.

I get ZERO government financial support. How about you?

Destroy the GOPe AFTER the election, idiots, not before.

Ah, the Paulbots strike again. Sorry buddies - the Ron Paul "insurgency" isn't going to happen and nothing is going to distract us from getting Obama and all of his radicals out of power.

Romney was never our first choice but now he's our only choice. Go. Away.

Puhleeze. The GOPe Convention was fixed,
and “won” by the GOPe’s greatest cheater
and Conservative-saboteur, who
also is the Author of Death Panels.

The GOP is finished.
NO CONSERVATIVE OF PRINCIPLE will vote for
RINO ROMNEY of DEATH PANELS and ROMNEYCARE/OBAMACARE.

And remember, Mr. RomneyCARE HELPED OBAMA win the
last election by savaging Gov. Palin AFTER THE
last convention. It has NOT been forgotten.

Apparently, the hurt that the Progressves/Socialists/Marxists have put on this country as a whole has had no friggin effect on you, hooray. For the rest of us who think with our cranial matter rather than the point on top of the cavity that holds it, we will take another tact to make sure the Kenyan and his Marxist cabal will be remembered only as the huge brown stain on our history and that we ended it, not term limits.

So quit your little pity party and put your man pants on, if in fact you are one, and join us to execute step one and send the Marxist packing. Once that has been accomplished we start step 2. The reality is that we conservatives surround them and contrary to conventional wisdom it is not the other way around.

They know we will be coming but we will decide the battleground not them.

Or, even worse, so-called conservatives electing Obama in the first place. I’m talking specifically about McCain, who did everything he could to assure Obama’s win in ‘08.

How do we know that Romney doesn't intend to do the exact same thing? This election really does appear to be a repeat of 2008: Republican voters get the worst candidate possible shoved down their throats, just to have that candidate effectively throw the election. I'm starting to wonder if they all aren't in on the same scam.

So many clueless Republicans here. They think if they get rid of Obama that they can work on Rombama.

I got news for these idiots, Rombama just showed his true colors to you fools.

Soros was right, Obama or Rombama, not much difference.

The difference is that Rombama is going to silence you from within your party whereas Obama will silence you from outside your party.

No matter who wins, you are screwed.

Since you're from Kentucky, your non-vote won't matter, and you can rail like a first grader that didn't get his nap, but people that live in swing states need to really look at the results of their selfish, feel good, childish protest.

You spouted paragraph after paragraph and all you said that since the mean old nasty party didn't give you what you wanted, you would hold your breath and turn blue and not vote for Romney.

By you own admission, you have no principles, since you said that could have been "won over if".

If Mitt and the RNC had done what you wanted, "what ever the hell that might be", you would have voted for Romney.

Loud mouthed, but very well written, you are just another hypocrite, cry baby, that is taking their ball and going home.

Next.

Gee, thanks for your lukewarm and condescending understanding!

And I’ll *try* to understand you when you stick your head where your toilet paper should go and refuse to help eliminate the evil that is Barack Obama.

Deal?

People seem to forget that historically, is was Southern and Western Democrats who were the standard-bearers for the conservative movement, in many ways. That only changed in the post-LBJ era when the Democratic Party became a comfort zone for all types of losers and stunted misfits in America.
