Was Obama Really Ever A Great Orator?

A lot of disappointment across the board about Obama’s speech at the Democrat’s Convention, even from the liberal left. But was he ever a great orator or was it all a myth generated by a compliant media that almost everyone else was afraid to confront?

Absolutely. Unfortunately, he can only speak to people who aren’t hearing his words. His oration skills are like a pleasing tune. He fell flat at the DNC because he had to say actual words to defend his indefensible record. Suddenly the tune isn’t so pleasing.

Obama.

There’s no “there” there.

He’s a prime example of affirmative (in)action.

And a dork, to boot.

Actually, no. His main thought thrusts are Democrat platitudes consisting of three-to-five word phrases ennunciated in a quick cadence that ends with an abruptness intended to convey a finality as if he’d just spoken a universal fact (or to a Democrat’s ears, God’s - whoever that is to them - word).

If you add that prissy lisp he has for words ending with an “S,” you have, at least for me, a pretty annoying pattern of speech....

[Side note: I actually remember reading an article by some Obama butt-kisser who wrote extensively how is lisp was a sign of extreme intelligence.]

I always thought he was rather mechanical in his speeches.

What he is is a practiced reader from the teleprompter.

Hell no... I have never liked the way he reads the words written for him. I do not think that he is intelligent or educated... I think he has conned his way through life using the racism scam.

Was Obama Really Ever A Great Orator?

From the first time I heard him....I would have answered NO to that question. He has learned how to utilize some persuasive technique....but he is NOT a GREAT orator. He makes grammatical mistakes, includes sloppy words ( the slang word “gonna” comes to mind) and often lacks substance and principle in what he says.

Given the culture of today...he is above average. That’s it...

He only repeats words other people have written for him.

I consider NO abject LIAR a great orator.

To be a great orator, you must speak the truth eloquently, forcefully and persuasively. LIES do not persuade, they fraudulently influence opinions until the truth is known.

His supposed oratorical skill was part of “the greatest hoax” Clint Eastwood spoke of.

Obama is very good at speaking to the uninformed, much like Hitler was. Like Hitler, he can effectively blame the country’s woes on someone, anyone but himself. There is always a bogeyman referenced in his speeches. Hitler’s primary scapegoats were the Jews. Obama blames “the rich,” the Republicans and anyone who doesn’t worship him as the messiah. And like the German people under Hitler, the public eats it up.

Barack Hussein Obama was one of the really big hoaxes ever pulled on the American people.

A fawning, sycophant media, skillful manipulation of image, a few well-placed “misfortunes” that befell others in the path of springing splendidly from triumph to triumph over the course of ever higher elective office, affirmative action where it was needed in those tough hurdles on the way to acquiring at least a modicum of civilization, this paragon of - something, no, not virtue - has become the ultimate “post turtle”. He didn’t get there by himself, he doesn’t belong there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder who was so twisted as to put him there in the first place.

Americans have had their social experiment. Now, it is time to get back to the business of getting back to business.

Obama’s skill in speaking is his ability to use a lot of words to say nothing. Those listening in the crowd only hear the words that agree with what they want to hear. That’s why in 2008 so many people claimed Obama agreed with them but you can never find a direct statement.

In his convention speech people listened to what he actually said and there was nothing there. The liberals were looking for a leader and suddenly realized they elected an organizer not a leader.

Of course Obama is a great orator..... If you like to have your ears tickled and don’t mind swallowing babbling platitudes that mean nothing....

If you think style trumps substance is what makes a great truth...Obama is the greatest....

A great orator tells you the truth in a way your heart and mind can agree with...

Obama deals strictly in lies....immense huge lies....

No!

His speeches call to mind that Kliban cartoon or it may have been Gary Larson ; “what people say and what dogs hear”. And basically all the dog was hearing was : blah blah blah blah- eat?- blah blah blah blah- go for a walk?- blah blah blah blah. In Obama’s case it’s: blah blah blah blah- black skin- blah blah blah blah.

Biden is a buffoon of the highest order, but what I saw of his speech at the convention was far better delivered than anything Hussain has ever done. They are both bombastic phonies but I thought Biden’s “Uncle Joe” blue collar style connected with his audience (uncritical that it was). Obama is simply an elitist who preached and pontificated. He talks down to people.

Anyone can confidently give a speech if you’re allowed to say or promise anything the audience wants to hear, as long as you’re never held accountable for hypocracy or results.
