How about this.
How about we pack up and come home.
How about we tell them we’re not giving them another dime,
How about we tell them to go screw themselves.p
How about we leave them to live their Stone Age lives with their savage culture and their fanatic religion.p
We’ve been bankrolling and defending any number of Muslim nations over the last decade and where has it gotten us? Our ambassador is dead, our embassies are under attack and our “allies” are shooting us down.
It’s time to take the hint.
It’s time to give them the finger.
We’ve spent years trying to win their hearts and minds. It’s about time we realized they have neither.
It’s about time we realized it’s every man for himself, and America has got to take care of itself.
If they ever crawl out of the Dark Ages, maybe we can re-engage. Until then, to hell with them.
We have in recent days seen protests across scores of nations, people assailing our embassies and burning our flag. Shouting their support for a dead terrorist and waving aloft his flag. Nations we liberated and fund repay us with hatred and condemnation. Soldiers and police whom we have clothed, paid, trained and armed turn their guns upon us in acts of contempt and cowardice.
We have given them our blood and our treasure and they have given us the back of their hand.
And it’s time to cut them loose.
If the Russians or Chinese want to make allies of them, let them try. If we fear Iranian or Islamic expansion, what has anything we’ve yet done done to slow them? It’s all a perfect mess and it’s time to scrape it off the sole of our boots.
Seriously.
This isn’t invective and frustration. This is a policy proposal.
More likely, this is the will of the American people.
Cut the aid, pull the troops, stop the gravy train. Leave the sandbox to the cats.
No more foreign aid for any of them, pull our embassies out of half of them, wave good bye to most of them. We don’t need Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Egypt or any of them. They are a noose around our neck and they want nothing more than to dance on our graves.
It is clear they don’t like us, and are never going to like us. It is clear our foreign policy elicits their contempt, not their respect. Let’s buy oil from the ones we have to buy oil from and ignore the rest. We don’t need them. They serve absolutely no useful purpose.
So kiss them good bye.
Let’s keep our homeland defenses strong, work even harder on intelligence, and do our best to keep them and their suicide vests on their own side of the ocean.
We tried. It didn’t work. Let’s write them off.
How about deporting ALL of the Muslim Imans and any known radicals from the U.S.
The Russians and Chinese will have no problem becoming allies with the dictators in the middle east. They do not care about the human conditions there (i.e. people living under dictators), they are not traditional allies of Israel, the only State in the area with whom we share political ideals etc...
In fact, it’s probably accurate to say Iran, Libya and the others are as natural allies with Russia and China as we are with Israel.
Give Israel a free hand to a good portion of the ME for them to do as they please with it not limiting them to ridding the ME of every goat humping Arab over there.
The western world needs to isolate itself from Islam. But, that is only possible by stopping them from immigrating and deporting known radicals. It will never happen. PC is king now.
Okay, so we wait 4 months...
We have all the oil and gas we need in the US for the rest of the century and we know how to get.
Our commitment to the mideast should be limited to standing by to protect Israel and sharing the duty to protect oceangoing shipping through the region.
We don’t use that much mideast oil anyway and those who do can waste the lives of their own soldiers on it.
I’ve been saying that for what? 20 years?
But I’m a bit more radical. End all non-emergency foreign aid, and make all emergency foreign aid volutary by charitable donation. Want something from us? What’s in it for US? < /rant >

It has been clear to me for a LONG time that everyone in The Middle East, except Israel, hated our guts and tolerated us only to take our money. It is probably just as well, because we are broke, and now Hussein (in typical muzzie fashion!) has gone out of his way to even alienate Israel!

You can lead people to freedom, but you can’t make them free.
Civilization and civilized would work in that sentence also.
As long as we need imported oil, we’ll be involved whether we like it or not. Our economy can’t handle $150/bbl oil or higher. American families are under economic attack.
Walking away sounds good but as long as we’re financing the Middle East and terrorism through oil purchases, we don’t have a choice. If we pursued a national strategy of using natural gas for vehicle fuel, it wouldn’t be long before the drop in demand for oil would transfer the financial problems to the Middle East.
