Where's Sarah?
one man's opinion...

Posted on 09/29/2012 7:55:55 AM PDT by ken5050

Here we are, a little more than a month from Election Day. The race is very close, despite what the pollsters and the MSM try to tell us. And oddly, the one person who most energizes the GOP base, the Tea Party, has all but disappeared from the public view.

I hate to say this, because I like Sarah very much, but the reality is that she’s all downside and no upside in this election.

Would she fire up the Tea Party? Yes, but they are already fired up to defeat Obama even if they would have preferred a different nominee. Would she draw away attention that should go to Romney and Ryan? You betcha, because the media is obsessed with her. And would she eventually say something the media would turn into a gaffe? You betcha, because that’s what the media does with Sarah and we’re talking about people who call it a gaffe when Romney says it’s a bad idea to apologize to Islamist rioters. And they know the only way they can keep independents away from Romney is to make him seem kooky.

So, all downside, no upside.

As for the idea that “she won’t shill for Romney,” with all due respect, someone who worked hard to put Juan McCain in the White House and to keep him in the Senate until 2016 is not going to be too pure to support Romney over Senator Soiled Utility Room.

Um...she would try to put Juan McCain in the White House and then work hard to keep him in the Senate until 2016, but she won’t “shill for Romney” with 23 million people jobless or underemployed?

Does not compute.

She didn’t run because the numbers weren’t there.

If Obama wins Palin will win it in walk next time

If Romney wins I think she will be a leader holding him accountable- and should threaten to primary him if he becomes a RINO

You said it better than me, in fewer words.

We’re energized, they’re not. At this point, it’s key that we make sure as many of them are home on Nov 6.

“That should tell you a lot. Her “horses” were defeated by other (conservative) candidates in the primaries.”

Wrong-o she helped Ted Cruz beat the wealthy favorite in Texas.

Wrong-o. Look at Mizzou. I think her “horse” came in third.

“She is keeping her head down and her powder very dry....”

Yes she is. I got a letter from her today talking about needing to finish what we started in 2010. She spoke of obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America and that it is destroying everything that made our country great.

Her goal is:
#1 Defeat obama
#2 Win the Senate

She goes on to talk about tapping into our energy resources — oil, natural gas, and clean coal — to free us from dependency on foreign dictators.

Sarah is still working.

What doesn’t compute is your lack of understanding that Romney worked to destroy Gov Palin - I stand by my statement she wont shill for him.

"What horses does she have in the race?" That should tell you a lot. Her "horses" were defeated by other (conservative) candidates in the primaries.

Actually, your history is dead wrong.

Palin supported Mourdock over Lugar. Mourdock was the Conservative. Mourdock won.

Palin supported Deb Fischer in a multicandidate race in Nebraska. Fischer was both new and Conservative. She won her race.

Palin supported Jeff Flake in the AZ Senate Primary. He is Conservative. He won.

Palin supported Ted Cruz when your friends in the GOP were supporting David Dewhurst. Cruz won in a landslide.

Her only loss was Sarah Steelman, and Akin won that race in MO. And Akin may yet pull it out.

Unless, of course, you are talking about the Presidential primary, and trying to argue that Romney, whom Palin opposed in the early going, was actually the Conservative candidate. If you're making that argument, that wouldn't suprise me about you at all.

You may dislike Palin intensely, as I suspect you do, and while you have a right to your opinion, you don't have a right to your own facts.

Best,

Chris

I’m thinking primarily of Steelman. I think if it’s. Tea Party vs establishment, the Tea Party candidate wins most of the time without Palin. Cruz is the very big exception.

Had McCain/Palin won in 2008, Palin would have been the real president and Mccain the Veep. Palin would have single-handedly turned around the economy with her policies while McCain took the credit.

Here is one reason why Palin was so active campaigning in 2010- she did it in exchange for contributions from the RNC. Maybe she was expecting the same thing this year and was not getting what she wanted so she is sitting out. Who knows.

_____________________________________________________

The Republican National Committee is paying off some of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s sizable legal fees dating back to the 2008 presidential campaign in exchange for her help raising money for the financially strapped RNC during the campaign season, The Washington Times has learned.

RNC Treasurer Randy Pullen, who co-signed the check with RNC Chief Administrative Officer Boyd Rutherford, said Mr. Rutherford told him the check was in exchange for Mrs. Palin’s help with RNC Chairman Michael S. Steele to raise money for midterm election campaigns.

“The initial payment was for Palin to do several different fundraising events and sign fundraising letters for the RNC,” Mr. Pullen said. He said the RNC has committed to sending the Anchorage law firm a second check of an equal amount, which would bring the total to $257,037.70.

Let me put this forward. My guess Sarah is doing what she can to get candidates as conservative as possible elected.

That may mean staying out of the way if she feels that is the best course. If R & R don't want her there; then she won't be there.

She knows it's not about her.
