Where in the hell are the Romney TV ads?
Self | 10/2/12 | Me

Where in the hell are the Romney television ads? Good ones, bad ones, any? Everyday, I see multiple, obnoxious Obama ads go unchecked on national stations; blatant lies and distortions that actually have half of America believing they are better off under a man who is largely responsible for their misery and poverty! Obama is the one who must be made to answer for four years of historic failure and radicalism, not Mitt Romney. I’m fully aware of the so-called swing state strategy, but sometimes when a candidate and party are so obsessed with a handful of contests, they miss the big picture; the heartbeat of America. It is a war of hearts and minds - not monotone drivel - that is only won with unflinching perspective and cutthroat common sense! After all, the MSM sure as hell isn’t going to do us any favors!

--A dilapidated, dingy room is filled with sitting media correspondents wearing gray uniforms; only an Obama symbol, atop of their notepads resting upon their locked knees, gleams with color. The hypnotized journalists are transfixed upon a giant, flickering, black and white screen; the words “Forward” and “Obey” routinely interchange with an Obama symbol marking each “O”. Obama’s face, stoic and ominous, fades to the foreground.

Obama: America…is better off than it was four years ago. An Obama symbol, slowly transposing over the stars of the American flag, begins to block out images of the poor and homeless, business closings, as well as scenes of urban blight and violence.

Obama: You…(intermittent images of our forefathers, the Industrial Revolution, and our flag raised at Iwo Jima, appear)…did not build this!

The pictures quickly burn away until Obama’s face resurfaces.

Obama: I…will not fail!

The menacing image of Obama begins to distort and flicker as bright, colorful graphs of unemployment, national debt, food stamp usage, gas prices, and home foreclosures emerge in secession.

Obama: (incensed) Forward!

The graphs repeat at frightening pace – casting shows on the faces of the now disturbed media – until the screen goes blank and the room pitch black.

Orwellian Voice: (echoing) During a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.

(Silence)

A blinking prompt materializes at the bottom of the screen. The stunned reporters turn to one another, before looking back to the front. The words “Attempting To Reload Constitution” appear before the blinking prompt.

Bedroom --

A teenage boy clicks off the TV with the remote. After hesitating in brief reflection, he opens a history book to a chapter entitled, “The Constitution: The Greatest Document Ever Conceived”.

Reading: “We the people, in order to form a more perfect union…”

A bookmark with an Obama symbol tumbles to the floor.

Where do you live? I live in Alaska and see no ads. Romney will win here. there is no reason to spend money where you are a lock. There is no reason to spend money where you have no chance.

I would be pretty pissed if Romney was running ads in Hawaii. It’s a waste of money.

Missouri. I understand what you’re saying, but I think Obama’s rise in the polls, even hitting 50% in Rasmussen - a credible poll - is telling of his national tv strategy. You reach countless more minds and voters. We at least need some sort of presence. I’ve easily seen over 50 Obama ads - 4 different ads - in the past month alone and not one for Romney. Democrats are fully aware of the important of swing states too, but continue to make a national impact as well. When you tell lie and lie, and not just little ones, a number of people start to believe them when given no other alternative to their deception.

I routinely wonder that, not here, but I have many friends in Battle Ground states who say it’s mostly Hussein ads.

excellent question. but maybe he is concentrating his advertising on states where he has a chance of winning?

I sure wish he would get his message out better, though.
He can run a very strong campaign, just look at how he did in defeating Gingrich and Santorum. So far, even though he has some amazingly good issues (starting with the depressed economy and its prospects, then the screwed up defense and foreign policies, the lies, the secret identity of the Occupancy in the WH, etc. Take your choice, put them in any order you wish, Romney should be able to win in a landslide BUT he really does have to get his message out to the public a lot more...

Same here. I see them on multiple stations everyday and have to change the channel. I honestly have not seen one Romney ad yet and the eleciton is a month away. It’s insane because you also reach swing state voters using the three major networks, ESPN, A&E, and others.

Exactly. Romney has the ammunition he needs for the truth is on his side. He just needs to effectively package it and start hammering the point home. I’m getting worried.

Thought Romney was going to “carpet bomb” with ads in September.

Same here. National ads just reach so many more people...including swing state voters, and many of those other states other than Ohio or florida, that could help Romney if they unexpectedly go his way. When I don’t see any, and an avalanche of Obama ads, it raises red flags.

That’s what I thought. Well he better get on it in October because those undecideds are going to begin to evaporate.

99% of the ads in NH are Obama ads. He’s flooding the state with 2 in particular. The 47% quote ad and the “Obama created millions of jobs (even more than Bush) ad.

Yup, after the convention. So far Obama's doing the carpet bombing.

I live in Kalifornia, no R/R ads here and I don’t want them. Give the ad buys to FL, OH, IA, VA & WI where they are needed.

I haven’t seen one Romney ad, but I live in California so I figured they thought it would be a waste of money to air them here.

I’m all for that but national ads reach swing state voters too. Sometimes the national sentiment spills over and helps in states you never expect. I think Obama’s rise in the polls are directly tied to his onslaught of national tv ads. If most of America doesn’t get Romney’s message, they are left only with the lies and deceit of the left. Most Americans are not politically active and get their news/views from dubious sources.

I just saw a Romney ad on YouTube. Romney’s pitch was that both he & BO “care about” the middle class, but while BO’s idea of caring was to put people on welfare, his idea of caring was to create an economy in which people could get actual jobs that paid well. It was a very mild approach, not aggressive at all.

Millions in swing states have already voted early. I worked in elections training county chairs and election judges/clerks, and CANDIDATES. I always told them to reach early voters before early voting started. If Romney didn’t do that, he’s behind already. I doubt Hussein missed the early voters.
