VANITY: My Mom, age 70, continues to idolize Obama...
self | 10/5/12

Posted on 10/05/2012 11:49:16 AM PDT by SilvieWaldorfMD

... even after his DISASTROUS performance during the debate.

She's Italian (came to this country at age 14 in 1956), and I just have a feeling that she misses Mussolini in some way and sees POTUS as a somewhat Mussolini-like figure. She's been all about "social justice" in recent years.

She's been retired for over 10 years and receives an average pension. She's by no means "rich". Very middle class, and dare I say perhaps even lower middle class...

In 2008, she supported Hillary until the very end, and eventually settled with Obama when he got the nomination. She LOVES him and his wife and the entire Obama family.

I cannot comprehend this.

From the column:
Late in the debate, when Romney for a third time referred to Obamacare’s creation of “an unelected board, appointed board, who are going to decide what kind of [medical] treatment you ought to have,” Obama said, “No, it isn’t.” Oh?

The Independent Payment Advisory Board perfectly illustrates liberalism’s itch to remove choices from individuals, and from their elected representatives, and to repose the power to choose in supposed experts liberated from democratic accountability. Beginning in 2014, IPAB would consist of 15 unelected technocrats whose recommendations for reducing Medicare costs must be enacted by Congress by Aug. 15 of each year. If Congress does not enact them, or other measures achieving the same level of cost containment, IPAB’s proposals automatically are transformed from recommendations into law. Without being approved by Congress. Without being signed by the president.

These facts refute Obama’s Denver assurance that IPAB “can’t make decisions about what treatments are given.” It can and will by controlling payments to doctors and hospitals. Hence the emptiness of Obamacare’s language that IPAB’s proposals “shall not include any recommendation to ration health care.”

By Obamacare’s terms, Congress can repeal IPAB only during a seven-month window in 2017, and then only by three-fifths majorities in both chambers. After that, the law precludes Congress from ever altering IPAB proposals.

Because IPAB effectively makes law, thereby traducing the separation of powers, and entrenches IPAB in a manner that derogates the powers of future Congresses, it has been well described by a Cato Institute study as “the most anti-constitutional measure ever to pass Congress.” But unless and until the Supreme Court — an unreliable guardian — overturns it, IPAB is a harbinger of the “shock and awe statism” (Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels’s phrase) that is liberalism’s prescription for curing the problems supposedly caused by insufficient statism.

End of excerpt.

Doesn’t sound like much “social Justice” to me. In fact, if Obama wins again I will be looking for another country rather than literally be put to death by liberals.

A friend of mine just got told he could no longer get the medication he is on. He is too old. Rationing has already started and many older people would like to think it hasn’t.

I did that to former friends as soon as I learned they had voted for him and I’m about to do it to my sister and BIL, too. Can’t bear to be around anyone so stupid that they have ruined my life and their own as well...and still don’t realize it!

My parents (deceased) were both big leftists and as a child I was taught the virtues of communism. I never bought into it as a child and when I learned the truth about the mass murder under the regimes I attempted to tell them but they thought I had been brainwashed. We just didn’t talk about news or politics at the dinner table.

My MIL can’t get over it either. The funny thing is when Clinton was in she hated the Dems, then came the great black hope and she’s bought into the whole party line. Luckily I’ve never really liked her and spent most of the last 2 decades avoiding her.

My father’s family was helped by the Democrats when they came over in the 1920’s, my mother’s by the Republicans.

They voted that way until Jimmy Carter, then my father never looked back. He never switched his registration, but never voted for a Dem again. Im fact he yelled at the TV at them, especially Clinton.

I agree that this is the mindset among the older crowd.

I live in Illinois, so it doesn’t matter. But if I can deny that Marxist zygote a vote, I will. I’ll pour my dad a shot of cognac and we’ll laugh about it.

“She’s been all about “social justice” in recent years.”

If this is true, PLEASE print out the History Test at the link and hand it to her; be sure to alert her to the fact that the test comes from the National BLACK Republican Assoc. website, and then have her defend the democrat party.

http://www.nbra.info/DYK-HistoryTest

(It wouldn’t hurt to let her know the Obama is most probably a sodomite, as well, and has married Manchelle under the Rev. Wright “Down Low” instruction at his church, as a “cover”).

Based on her age and European background: it’s fair to expect that beginning in the 1950’s she was brainwashed by the leftist newspapers and the three networks, ABC, CBS and NBC. All of these ‘information’ organs promoted JFK, LBJ, MLK and the Democratic Party. They despised the GOP because of Nixon and were in permanent mourning for JFK, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King (a Republican. Whatever made news, sold papers and paid the Network bills was pushed front and center. Their socialism evolved and was passed to the subsequent journalists entering the propaganda profession. There is no free press - it is bought and paid for by enemies of the USA.

They’ll just deny it. Remember when Obama said he was for traditional marriage? No matter his actions, they’ll say “oh no, he’s not for gay marriage, he said so.” As for abortion they say “he’s not for abortion, just a woman’s right to her own body.” Nothing but excuses. I just don’t get the allegiance by some to the dem party over the good of the country.

A pillow over the face while she's sleeping could take care of the problem. That is, if she hasn't already voted.

It's a joke......

OK got a question, the HillBuzz guy.

Is he from Chicago and works on Capital Hill, hence the name of the blog, Hillbuzz?

Or is he in Chicago and is just enraptured with Hillary, hence the name, Hillbuzz? (That would be barfable!)

I am the lone Conservative in a very large family of Liberals, I know your pain.

When I walk in the room, I can hear them speaking their views to each other in hushed tones. They never really bother discussing the issues with me anymore. I probably come across as a know-it-all, which in this case, I am, simply because I am much better informed than most of them (except one, who is simply an Honest Liberal, and wants socialism).

It is no use trying to convince them after a certain point, the truth is, most peoples political beliefs are emotionally, not rationally, held.

Most of my family and friends who think Obamacare is cool are themselves in good health. God help them when they get old or if they develop some catastrophic illness. They will find out the hard way how evil this legislation is and how wrong they were about that wonderful guy in the White House.
