Note from yours truly - On top of an old thread , PMS may not exist, research shows (Sorry, Ladies) Here comes another. Doubly Sorry, Ladies.
STOCKHOLM: The long-held belief that women are better than men at multitasking is a myth, according to new Swedish research.

That is one hell of a curve Mr. Koufax!
When I intend a post as a general comment on the thread as a whole, I hit the reply button at the very beginning. My comment becomes a reply to #1.
Perhaps you would have been happier if I had erased his name, and typed "ALL" instead ...
But I didn't, so we'll all have to live with that ... and then we can go on to discuss the content of my post, instead of the odd vagaries of the FR software.
No need for a study.
Moi? No no no, I am innocent of the charge.
By talking it aloud, it will help bring us together. (always works for libs, it seems.)
Some discriminating men of “fine intellect” simply blow off the “unecessary” make work tasks tht are set before them( by their wives) so that they may concentrate on the more important tasks such as monitoring the pizza in the oven, while monitoring several sports channels simultaneously while talking to the lawn guy at the same time yelling at the boys to stop fighting or they are really going to have their backsides warmed up....while congratulating themselves for giving the little woman 5 bucks so that she could get out for herself for 1 hour.
Insensitive Male stream of consciousness statement sponsored by the folks at “Been there and Done that and Boy did she let me have it” :}
A Swedish study ... who would have thought passing a law requiring men to sit down to pee would have such unforeseen effects on their psyche?
Multi-tasking can be difficult.
Perhaps if you practice it a bit, you’ll find it less difficult.
That would be more believable if you left the “helpful notes” out of the thread titles.
ROFLOL
My point was that the “battle of the sexes rhetoric” originated with the OP, not with a woman.
Anyway, I’m dropping it. I don’t want to get in an ugly dustup with a longtime FRiend. Life has enough crap as it is, without that.
For Pete's sake, where did that stupid rant come from? Sense of humor, much?
Real life.
Sense of humor, much?
Often, but I just don't find some things funny. I'm sure you have topics that just don't amuse, too.
Um, Sorry?
Should I talk to you in about 10 days?
Perhaps I should go feed die Katzen ... I'm getting prickly on too many subjects.
I'm tired of hearing folks trash their spouses ... I'm not sure which I find more depressing:
The idea that they're right, that the guy/gal really is a crummy excuse for a human being.
or
The idea that they're wrong, but they feel socially obligated to trash their spouse anyway.
Oh, well ...
Oh, ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha hee hee.
I haven’t had a period in 19 months.
Lovely cat. We have a calico female and a brown tabby male, both “fixed.”
I agree ... both situations you describe are disagreeable ... and yet, we keep having these threads to stir the pot and get everyone to dish either the tiresome stereotypes or their own real, agonizing issues ... and ha ha ha it’s so funny.
Since you all responded to the thread I am responding to all.
Studying psych: multitasking has not been proven but the studies being done are showing that no one actually multitasks. Our brain is more like a computer than we thought. We do ONE thing at a time, consciously, but we do it very very fast, or not as fast as others.
Also, trying to multitask may actually not be productive if on an assembly line.
My take on it is that because a woman uses both sides of her brain more than a male because of the lack of coating that keeps her female, she might be able to switch from action to action faster. I used to be fast, but now I just get distracted and am noticeably slowing down as I mature (aging ungracefully).
Beware of first time studies and subsequent studies with an agenda.
And feed.
And pet, and scratch behind the ears ...
They eat rodents and bugs. It works out well.
Ours play with rodents, bugs, and birds, but rarely eat them ... and if they do, they throw up.
