Reports that the cost of entertainment at the White House have soared during President Obamas term were called unavoidable by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Barack is no ordinary president, Michelle contended. He is a Nobel Prize winner. He is tremendously popular all over the world. Polls show that if everyone in the world could vote for the President of the United States hed win with over 70% of the votes. So, naturally, its going to cost more.
The rock star status enjoyed by President Obama boosts both the frequency and expense necessary to entertain visitors at the White House, Michelle argued. Theres just so many more people who want to be with Barack than wanted to be with Bush or Clinton. On top of this, people expect an urbane and sophisticated experience. Were not hosting the kind of hillbilly or cowboy clientele that dominated previous administrations.
The highest cost event during the Obama Administration was a state dinner for the president of Mexico at a price of around $4700 per attendee. In comparison, the highest cost event during the Clinton Administration cost around $400 per attendee.
In related news, the First Lady advised supporters to vote early because you may find your toilet overflowing on election day.

You are gonna get some riled-up folks here who don’t read keywords or subtitles.
I warned you about the dangers of mind-reading... you really got moochele’s wavelength this time ;)
“We gots to milk dis cow while we can,” the First Lady was heard to remark.
She really said this??!!!
Called previous administrations hillbilly and cowboy? I can’t help but wonder how this will go over with Bill and Hill. Oh my, what an arrogant, elitist, grrrr, I can’t say the word!
I SO want to see these people soundly turfed, and I’m Canadian! I don’t know how you guys stand it!
C’mon put SATIRE in the heading, I see it in the link, but do it right for those of us who do t see satire as news or funny, easier to skip. If I want to waste time on this stuff I’d watch Joh Stewart.
Ok - just read it’s satire. Phew. Now I can calm down.
How much has Obama wasted? How much has Obama spent since in office? Now he is preaching to people “pay your fair share?” He was the one who spent us into debt above what anyone could dream. He wants everyone to pay for his overspending and waste.
Excellent satire, and it always makes a point.
Lighten up. John is one of the best satirists around and his stuff is almost impossible to tell from the truth. Always check for his label when reading an outrageous article, you'll be surprised how many times it is him and then again sometimes the outrageous stuff is real.
John's stuff is funny, you can almost hear the first Wookie saying this type of sh** or you know she is thinking thoughts that come very close.
Do your grumpy self a favor and read the link before reading any article and then just don't click on the satire.
Pretty good satire, too. :-)
I did read the link and considered fiction a complete waste of my time . I’d I want comedy I’ll go to DU. Put /satire on such a heading so many of us won’t waste our time stroking somebody’s wit.
Yes, it’s satire, but I don’t blame some people for thinking it’s a legitiamte news article. This scenario is entirely plausible with the Obama Administration!
His Vice President believes that they will receive 500 Trillion votes.
