Proposed Concepts for the Constitution of the New Republic of Texas

The United States federal government has usurped its power under its Constitution. It has become oppressive and unresponsive to the people of America. Under both major political parties, it has lost control of its fiscal responsibilities which will irreparably harm us and our posterity. It is time that Texans free ourselves from such oppression and peacefully secede. But before doing so, we should have direction for a new Republic. This document is an outline for concepts to be incorporated in the new Constitution for the independent Republic of Texas.

Reasons for Texas to Peacefully Secede:

(1) Freedom. We would control our own destiny. (2) Financial. A free and independent Texas would experience an unprecedented economic boom. People would be moving here in droves. Whatever debt we have to assume of our share of the US government could be paid off.

I think it ludicrous to petition Obama for separation. You separate then deal with the details, there is no other way. The Supreme Court was supposedly set up to protect us from tyranny, but they have enabled it. We will not be able to live side by side with evil for much longer, but we need a leader in Texas. We probably don’t have that yet but when the society breaks down as it will soon I suspect somebody will emerge.

this petition will go nowhere, but it finally, maybe starts the conversation. most colonists in 1770 would have never even considered secession in 1776 a possibility. And, my understanding is that many colonists stayed loyal to Britian even during the war.

In recent times, many countries have peacefully broken up. I hope Texas can do so within 10 years, before it is too late.

“Texas, Louisiana and Florida are leading the pack. When I was younger, I served in the military and went to war in a craphole to provide and protect democracy in a craphole that didn’t really care.

A lot of my contemporaries lost their lives fighting for that craphole, but NONE of us went to war to protect an America that exists today. We went to ensure that America WOULDN’T become a craphole!

So, if it comes down to a choice between going to war to leave America the looming craphole and enjoying the benefits of the America the Founding Fathers left to us, count me in!! I’m not willing to play this game that we are going to fix everything in another 2 or 4 years. We’re not. Things are already so bad and trending downward that, in 4 years, there may not even be another presidential election because Dear Leader LIKES his paid vacation at the expense of the expense of the slaves.

What now exists cannot be undone at the ballot box, it can only be undone (unfortunately) with violence. Years ago, I was willing to give my life to protect a craphole. Today, I am MORE than willing to give my life trying to protect the freedom, liberty and representative republic called America that I grew up in.”

Those states won’t ever seriously consider secession. They may be leading the pack but it’s still less people than live in a medium sized city.

The only people touting secession are a small percentage of disgruntled conservatives. The other side of the coin of the disgruntled liberals who all threatened to leave the country when GWB was elected.

A time machine to transport yourself back to the era of your choice is more realistic than secession.

I’ll answer you in a three word sentence:

Texas would lose a few million rif-raf and liberals and parasites, but how would they handle the many millions of America’s finest families and people swarming in?

I guess we would just have to see how the closest modern version of the original founding types of America, worked it out.

“The Legislature may financially encourage (or require) all workers in Texas to have Health Savings Accounts, funds to be deposited in Texas banks.”

“In addition, the Legislature may also financially encourage (or require) workers to have Personal Retirement Accounts.”

Even supposed conservatives cannot resist controlling individuals & their assets. I guess decades of federal intrusion have ingrained the idea that the state needs to participate in health & retirement issues. That is failed socialism, IMO.

These statements are preceded by this:

“We reject false promises of utopianism which the statist uses to justify all trespasses on the individual’s private property, sovereignty, and liberty.”

Requiring health & retirement accounts trespasses on private property & individual sovereignty. The state should have no influence on health care & retirement other than policing against criminality.

Well, rita, I have to say that I agree with Publius as well. He is a very smart fellow, I must say.

We are indeed left with no choice now, and that is only going to get worse, however, no choice is exactly that, no choice.

There will be no peaceful secession or anything of the sort. This country has become evil, and is not about to let those whom are good separate and go live over there undisturbed.

That is not the nature of evil. Evil seeks power, and it lusts to control.

If we separated from it successfully somehow, it would then come to kill us if not before then.

While I would very, very much like to divorce myself from the ****ing idiots and bastards of America, I can’t.

I do believe that myself and the rest of us are on this ship for the entire ride, and I believe the rest of the world may also be on that same ship, and we are headed directly into a maelstrom unlike anything ever seen in the history of mankind.

God Bless.

If so many people in this country want to secede, risking national collapse & civil war, then why can't those same people swamp Washington, DC with millions of peaceful but determined protesters who refuse to leave until major changes are made to our leadership. Gridlock the Capitol until the pols squeal. Turn their freebie Disneyland/brothel into HELL!

Truth is, 536 + 9 corrupt, self-serving traitors & their cronies are pillaging this country & enslaving the people. They are making our lives miserable. We should return the misery - times millions times months, or as long as it takes.

The MSM can ignore Benghazi, Fast & Furious, & a host of Washington corruption, but can it ignore mass protests at its front (& rear) doors? Can it ignore protesters who pursue the MSM as part of the national fraud? I seriously doubt it. Can "celebrities" ignore angry protests where they live & hang out? They will vomit in fear, & rightly so.

Why pursue the historically violent, often failed route of secession when massive protest can produce desired results without war? Why abandon good people in the other 49 states, as well as the power & wealth of the combined 50 states? Leaving these bums in charge of the other 49 states is irresponsible, plus it leaves a mortal enemy on our doorstep.

Frankly, before we consider secession, perhaps we should consider expelling a few states from the Union.

10% of the people in '75 actively supported the revoloution

10% actively opposed the rev...

the rest didn't get involved, so why did it succeed?...was it just a "breath holding tantrum" by a small minortiy of the population?

I understand all your arguments...and I would bet that the same arguments were offered back then by some of the people who are afraid of what it would mean....people would be uncommmmmfortable and lose a little money.

...but you are right...nothing like this is likely to happen...for you see, the predictions of many philosophers and politicians have come true:

When people find out that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury, its over...and obviously a majority of the people who vote have reached the "largess" point. We may never be able to overcome it...so sad.

“10% of the people in ‘75 actively supported the revoloution”

There won’t anywhere near 10% of the population that would support a revolution today.
The call for secession are from a small, very small minority.

Open revolt has been conditioned out of the general populace.
It’s not like 1775. Everybodys fate is intertwined and even in solid red states that are leading the charge for secession the number of secessionists is negligible.

One problem is, even though we all view our states as Red and Blue, The Red states still have almost FORTY percent voting for the other guy, and the same is true in the Blue states.

The solution to this is rather simple and it is just tragic it can't be applied to the US as a whole.

Place restriction on who can vote. The founders would never allow the current welfare-dependent rabble to vote. If you are on the dole, you don't vote. If you don't pay taxes, you don't vote. If you don't work, you don't vote. If you don't own anything, you don't vote. I would add in the requirement to be a head of household.

Entitlements are no longer about compassion or a safety net. They are a naked vote buying scheme that has brought our nation to the brink.

Not quite. A growing number of people, conservatives and liberals, recognize that America is headed for a very bad time in its history.

I would ask you this: "Would you willingly walk before a firing squad, knowing that you did nothing wrong and that at least one of the people on the firing squad has live ammunition that will kill you, or would you fight with every fiber in your being?" Essentially, this is the choice we have today; a choice, ironically, that our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren may NOT have! We can either passively be enslaved by Obama who is also converting America into a third-world craphole, or we can resist and fight any way we can.

As I stated before, a LOT of young American men went to early graves fighting to provide or protect democracy in a craphole that couldn't care less. I might have become one of them, but for the grace of God.

So, I ask you, are you willing to let yourself, your family, your grandchildren and beyond be led into slavery without a fuss? There won't be tomorrow; tomorrow will be too late. There is now . . . . . . or never.

I just don’t see the situation being quite as dire as all that.
I see a lot of hang wringing that reminds me of the Y2K scare when a small percentage of the population driven by fear of the unknown fell into the same kind of frenzy. Saw the same thing a couple of years ago with the Rapture prediction.

IMHO this will stay alive on internet sites and that’s about as far as it will go. Why even waste the time.
The Civil War settled the question of secession already.

Communist truly do not want a 50 state “Berlin Wall” in America.

We should taunt them daily that we will build walls whenever we please and against whoever we please.

The people on medicare and other socialist programs will have to survive on there own. I doubt the people of Texas would let anyone starve or deny them emergency health care. That’s the whole point isn’t it? You are either stupid or a socialist yourself for asking such a question.

During the Revolution with GB, only 1/3 the population was in favor of separation. 1/3 was loyalist, 1/3 neutral.

Why not just dust off the US Constitution and use it. Heck, the Federal Government has barely touched it for a Century now. I’m sure they won’t mind...if they even notice.
