Red Star Rising (Anti-Red Dawn/Pro-North Korea Protest in NYC)
American Rattlesnake ^ | November 28, 2012 | Gerard Perry

To live in New York is to be surrounded by people suffering from various pathologies, many of whom you encounter on a daily basis if-like most of us-you use public transportation. Living here also means being surrounded by Marxists of varying hues, including Maoists, Trotskyites, and-as the photograph above illustrates, supporters of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Most of the time, international supporters of the only communist hereditary dictatorship fly under the radar. Outside of the faltering consortium of ethnic Koreans living in Japan-whose own stability has been imperiled for obvious reasons-there are not many people willing to support a regime which has killed enough of its subjects to rank comfortably between Pol Pot and Mengistu Haile Mariam in the annals of historical, third world despotism.

I miss the days when these people were arrested for treason. That alone pretty much cuts the dem vote in half.

Protesting was never a treason charge but they used to be far more subdued due to the fact that society frowned upon them.

My great grandmother said the victory garden went in the front yard whether you needed it or not because you wanted the neighbors to know that you supported our boys. If you didn’t have a victory garden, you might find yourself in an unfriendly neighborhood.

Yeah my great grandmother was a “thug”.

For what its worth her maiden name was Reiniche, her married name was Greene, and when she was married a 2nd time her name went from German to Austrian Litchault.

Loyal patriotic Americans have only 2 words to say to these nut jobs who promote totalitarian governments like North Korea, former soviet socialist governments like Russia and East Germany, communist governments like China, gangstyle rulers like those in warring African states, and the folks who run the tribes/clans in Pakistan, Afghanistan and any other “-stan.” Those 2 words are “bite me!”

Sometimes I wish we didn’t have freedom of speech just because of these folks, but then we’d lose our freedoms, too. Sadly, tho’ I think too many folks have less and less common sense these days and are too quick to accept as gospel what these nut jobs say. Gullible, uneducated, clueless.

BTW: my husband & I went to see the new movie “Red Dawn” and we loved it! Good shoot-em-up action movie, with lots of patriotism and courage exemplified. Nothing wrong with protecting one’s home—that was the clear message. And, even tho’ the movie was pre-release edited to have North Korea instead of China as the “bad guy” it still worked. Our favorite character was the Marine sergeant major!

Wolverines!

I don’t have a problem with their demonstrating. I’m just thinking it must be pretty tough times for Communists when they have to lift up freaking North Korea as a model society.

the spirited crowd of approximately half a dozen

LOL! Good report.

Did you see the post from the Chinese Red Star newspaper, congratulting Kim Jong Un on being named Sexiest Man of the Year by The Onion?

Like the temperence movement? How would we cope without an occasional nip?

Ha. No, I missed that.

This piece, after he assumed power, is pretty amusing though.

Reading an essay about the WWII era in Chronicles by Tom Landess and he had old bitties in his FLA town who were the town’s war effort Stasi. In brief I was meaning to say the thugs were from my granfather’s time in WWI era America, the busy bodies from the eras of both good wars.
