I always thought Charlie Sheen, and then Ashton Kutcher, played the half-man...

Recast? I’d say time to cancel.

Disgusting show. When I saw the numbers on how many people watch it, my conclusion was that 0bama would be reelected.

By what date will "The Half" give back all the ill-gotten millions he's received from the filthy show?

Hahaha. I crack myself up.

Petition the whitehouse, that’s if there are 25,000 people who watch the show. Never liked Sheen or his dad. I have no reason to care or complain, becasue I just exercise what little freedom I still have by watching something else.

Why should he give his pay back?
He was an 8 year old kid when he was cast in that show. And somehow, that little Texas boy grew up in that environment, and still managed to become a decent person. At 19 he decided it was garbage and said so.

He deserves the money he earned. Especially since he was a kid and probably had limits to how much it was his fault he was there. 8 year olds don’t wind up on TV without some parent pushing very hard for it to happen.

A very solid case can be made that all the adults in that kid’s life took advantage of an 8 year old, by making him a comedic prop in a lewd production. I hope he enjoys every dime he got from them.

Interesting. I don’t watch it for two reasons; I despise Charlie Sheen and that type of show is just not my cup of tea. I also cannot tolerate laugh tracks. I do know people who do watch it and they say they love it. That said, if the kid doesn’t like the show he should ask to be let go or quit. $250,000 an episode may be hard to quit, though.

I watch it all the time and I have all the episodes. It is a funny and relaxing show. People need to lighten up or mind their own business.

I never watched it because most sit-coms are loud, lewd and not very funny. I didn't think this one would be an exception. The promos looked lame so I ignored it and am glad that I did.

As for the kid actor, 19-year-old Angus T. Jones, his calling the show 'filth' and asking people not to watch it will undoubtedly be grounds for the production company to fire him and I assume he wants that to happen. Those who sneer that he should give back his salary for past shows seem to be more incensed over his conversion to Christianity than anything else and are eager to call him a hypocrite. I won't. He earned the money he was paid but no longer wants to perform on the show so he'll no longer be taking the producers money. What's wrong with that? It's his choice. That his faith is his motivation should not be an issue. Had he waited until the show went off the air, then called it 'filth', he would be a hypocrite. This way, he states his opinion and leaves the show with his integrity intact. Good for him.

I don't do sitcoms, can't stand the laugh tracks.

But I agree with your point. People do need to lighten up. If they don't like the show all they need do is not watch. That works for me quite well.

I just watched a bit of the video of the kid. I thought he had turned Christian and discovered he didn't like the content of the show. But that is not the case. He's been a Christian all his life. So why would he participate in a show that he considers to be "filth"? Because he loves the money. He needs to lighten up also. Either lighten up or quit. But quitting would require him to give up those fat paychecks. Not easy to do.

Conversion? Did you watch any of the interview? He's been a Christian since preschool. I wonder why the parents would send him to Christian schools and then allow him to be on a show that many, he included, consider to be filth.

Just give me the money. Sorta like the objectors during WW2 that refused to be inducted into the armed forces but lined up to take jobs in the munitions factories.

I’m confused, just who were the “men” on that show?

I agree. He was a kid, after all. It takes a while growing up, finding and formulating your moral boundaries. He was probably also rather proud to be earning a big paycheck, contributing to his family. Lot of varied and conflicting directions for him to work through.

Sounds positive, though, for him to come to this conclusion. The show is astonishingly putrid. It wallows in vileness. Jaw-dropping how far down American culture has devolved, looking at things like that. The whole country is such a cultural sewer nowadays.

Along with the rest of us who see that kind of 'entertainment' as pointless, you stand in good company...

I may not be classified a “Bible thumper,” but what the kid says is right on. The show has truly sunk to a level far below simple innuendo. I find the show’s sexual pronouncements quite offensive, and it takes away from the comedic value the show previously possessed. With the current direction, the show belongs in the trash heap.

Very few kid actors transition into adult actors successfully. Angus should quit the show if he can get out of his contract, determine what it is he wants to do in life, and take whatever education he needs to accomplish that. Doubt he would ever be considered a leading man type, or be a comedian, and would always be the second banana. 2-l/2 men was good initially, and Charlie Sheen was perfectly cast, but it soon deteriorated into pure sleaze, and it was horrifying to see a young Angus, then unaware, delivering smutty double entendres.
