We need to Petition for Armed Responsible Adults in Schools, as Israel did to stop school shootings
Gun Watch ^ | 15 December, 2012 | Dean Weingarten

We need to petition the White House to promote Armed adults to protect Children in the schools, as Israel did to stop their school shootings.

We need to circumvent the old media's calling for the failed gun control policies of the past. They did not work. They will not work, and they do destroy liberty.

Armed adults stop crime. Disarmed victim zones facilitate it. Creating more disarmed victims will not stop future crimes.

I am not sure that a petition to the White House web page is the way to do this, but the left has already gathered 100,000 signatures calling for more failed policies to destroy American liberties.

“What’s the point? There is no way our president will ever consider it. He wants the law abiding citizens unarmed.

Well turn in your gun, and spare us your defeatist whining.

Beslan is a prime example of the nonsense knee jerk reaction of liberals with munchausen political syndrome by proxy.

We do need reasonable self defense laws. WE KNOW criminals come. This is a fact, we know it. Anyone for gun control at this time is criminally complicit in a lie, and they thus will insist on furthering this lie so as to avoid charges.

They knew the NFL murderer was a psycho and his girl was without defense, yet chose to cover it up, ESPN and their NFL ilk, Penn State scandal style. Then they furthered the cover up by blaming the gun.

Beslan is also a good example of state violence manipulation.

Every school ought to have armed guards. Do we value our banks more than our children’s schools?

That is indeed the question. How do we value our children?

Not only do we willingly send our children into state run indoctrination centers we now accept that they need armed guards. WTH is wrong with this nation?

As a conservative educator serving (time) in the public school system, I cringe when I think of some of the teachers I work with trying to defend their students in a violent situation like the one yesterday. They are more likely to try to reason with a shooter, than to recognize the situation for what it is. Heck, half of them will be inclined to join the anti-gun crowd in protests around the country this weekend.

“Mr. Twain,” you’ll appreciate this one...

Yesterday, I was discussing with one class the “active shooter” procedures for our school...we basically lock the door, turn out the lights and pretend we’re not there until help arrives. After my students’ laughter died down, I became stone-faced and explained to them that THAT WAS the procedure. Nothing else.

I went on to explain what I have programmed myself to do...(keep in mind, that, currently, this is all that is available for me to do)...I will be the first person behind the locked door. Whoever barges in will receive whatever blows I may rain down on his/her head with my trusty 3-hole punch. My students continue to laugh, thinking very little of my “strategy,” just as most readers of this post are laughing, I assume. I again look at them stone-faced and ask them, “what are you prepared to do, should I fall? Do you think some shooter is going to stop shooting having taken me out? Who will grab the 3-hole punch if/when I fall?” At this point, there is no more laughter.

What would happen if this counter-argument to the lunatic-left disarm America meme were to be presented? What would the average American parent think, should they consider the scenario that I just explained...the ridiculous prospects for survival, the notion that their child might have to defend themselves bare-handed against an armed intruder?

It seems the average American parents just don’t get it... but I appreciate your thoughts and frankness with your students.

It was a class of Juniors. I doubt I’d be talking like that to middle-schoolers/elementary-aged students.

The point is, every public school child is basically protected by a thin layer of...nothing, when it comes to these nightmare scenarios. And that ought to be unacceptable. In light of yesterday’s events I was wanting a “peace-maker” on my belt, and all that was there was a belt loop.

Absolutely, totally correct. Responsible CHL carry by administrators and teachers in school will become a necessity.

Needless to say guns aren’t the problem, insanity is....

In China earlier this week a crazed man stabbed and injured over 20 children with a knife when he entered a school.

In my own town 22 years ago five people were murdered in one home with a ballpean hammer.

You can’t ban insanity so it makes a heck of a lot of sense for all the sane people to be armed against the crazy ones.

I’m for it - insist a percentage of teachers/staff get trained and be armed and even give them a pay incentive.

“Yes....it will be much more beneficial to have trained, armed personnel in our schools...ready for such threats.”

I’m strictly pro firearms and pro self defense. Having said that, I don’t believe I want to allow the hysteria to create another leap to action either way. We’ve all seen they typical government response to tragedy. Create another government bureaucracy, this time with armed government union workers and impose prison like security? No thanks.
Arming most of the liberal teachers? I don’t think so.
Yesterdays shooting spree may or may not have been shortened if ten police officers had been present.
Remember the LA bank shootout?
Nothing is going to stop a person willing to trade his life for his moment of notoriety.
The solution is not going to be found in government armed guards or well meaning civilians. I’m afraid that the only solution is beyond comprehension: Changing society.

In an hilarious facebook comment, the actress Mia Farrow actually commented that this Chinese incident was a good thing! She wrote: look, only wounded, no one dead!

I would volunteer for the job. I am a retired military officer, a former school teacher, a mother and a grandmother, and I know how to use a weapon.

Let us fierce “mamma bears” or “steel magnolias” guard our little ones! We might have huge hearts and soft arms for hugging, but we can be as fierce as necessary to protect our loved ones and those little ones in our charge.

The ancients had a reason for portraying their Furies as females!

I know the HS my daughter attends isn’t at all safe and there are way too many entrances into the buildings... it was built in the 60’s and set up “wing style” with a 100—500 wings that are all seperate buildings with class rooms in them and each of those buildings has a minimum of 4 entrances..

I was doing some contract work for her school and I could drive up and enter the wings as I wished and NO ONE ever asked me who I was.. EVER... I was just going about my business taking care of getting fiber into the IT room but still I was in and out of every wing and all the doors were open...

This is just one school of thousands in Texas.

We are completely unprepared for this. The School employees are the best defense for our children that attend public schools. Arm them I say and train them. We trust them to mold young minds but not carry a weapon?

Geeze I hate Liberal logic.

So....do you think we can get this up and running by, say, Monday? I have students coming in for exams...
