As we all know, CNN Contributor and Daily Beast columnist David Frum is really nothing more than a mercenary opportunist, and one who's increasingly desperate for attention. But who knew he was willing to go this far after the news was released of a shooting massacre at an elementary school in Newtown, CT:

Later in the day, Frum used the pages of the Daily Beast to "explain" his tweet and to defend himself against critics:
When the news of the school shooting first surfaced, my first reaction was anger. Again? Again?! I ventilated that anger in a bitter Tweet[.] …
That tweet was (apparently) picked up and highlighted by Michelle Malkin's "Twitchy" site. Moments later, I was receiving a long string of counter-tweets excoriating me for the supposed insensitivity of my comment.
I believe in dialogue on Twitter. I read comments, I consider them, and when I make mistakes, I correct them (to the extent I can) and apologize for them (where apologies are due).
Let me tell you what I think happened here: First off, the least of Frum's sins is his ghoulish use of an unthinkable tragedy to push a nonsensical agenda that would ensure only criminals possess guns. All day yesterday, at the first opportunity, we saw who knows how many Leftists join Frum to scream for gun control. What's so outrageously offensive about this is the fact that Frum and company were not really calling for the gun_control they want. The subtext of those gun control calls was in reality a grotesque brag -- a nanny-nanny-boo-boo, toldja so celebration around a pile of freshly dead bodies...

What this country REALLY needs to do is to get serious about treating people with mental disorders. These people need help. Perhaps David Frum could also benefit from such an effort.
They are forever stepping into it.

David Frum should stick to fat jokes. Oh, I forgot, he IS a fat joke.
He’s lying. His original intention was to make fun of concealed-carry laws because he is a liberal who wants guns taken away from honest, law-abiding people and deliberately left in the hands of criminals.
They disgust me to no end.
I think his name is David Sodomite, who see parents as animal breeders and children as meat for sexual pleasure or death.

There must be something in our society that creates these cowardly killers. Could it be the zombie movies mixed with drugs? Maybe it’s the violent video games mixed with drugs. Instead of blaming guns maybe they should look at what these killers had in common. It seems as though most of these mass murderers are under 25 or 30 years old.
About thrity years ago the ACLU went to court and ended the ability to have mentally ill people who were judged to be a threat to themselves or others committed to mental institutions. Many of the killers have had run ins with the law and have behaved in threatening ways but they were not put in institutions where they could be kept out of trouble. The left breaks societies rules for protecting itself and then makes demands that only cause more problems and tragedy. Without the ability for people to defend themselves, we would be totally unable to protect ourselves from criminals.
I wonder if marijuana has played a part in some of these crimes? Marijuana sometimes have the effect of causing paranoia. Too many people think of it as a joke because they used it as kids and they will not take a second look at the evidence.
