Secession? Sean Hannity says it's not such a radical idea
The Examiner ^ | January 12, 2013 | Jake Jones

Sean Hannity, a FoxNews prime time anchor for conservative news and views, says that secession is not necessarily a radical concept. Hannity is currently ranked No. 2 in Talker Magazine's Top 100 Talk Host in America.

His remarks came yesterday, Jan. 11, 2013, during his evening show. At the end of his program, Hannity has a short opinion segment where he espouses his opinion on the day’s hot topics. He oft times incorporates his personal feelings into that segment, as he did yesterday. (Listen to the audio and video below)

Quoting him from the show, he said,

““The states are now fighting and battling against their own federal government,” he said. ”Same thing with individuals. If you live in a state like New York, New Jersey, California or one of these high-tax states where 60-plus cents of every dollar goes to taxes, you’ll say, ‘What the hell am I doing this for,” he went on to say.

He went on to say that a lot of people have told him that, and that a lot of people are moving to more tax-friendly states, like Texas. He mentioned Louisiana where Bobby Jindal has just suggested that his state should remove the state income tax there. He warned that the states that are shouldering the burden of the states with higher taxes may want to stop doing that. In other words leave the Union....

Secession?

More like dissolution of the existing compact between the citizens and the Federal Criminals. No sane person can twist the interpretation of the Constitution to such a degree and still say kept their oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution.

Treasonous Criminal Vermin.

It is so funny how we as Americans go out and lecture other nations about letting certain regions in their country declare independence, yet our gov and powers to be get very uncomfortable with our own states leaving the union. That is why the US is seen in the world as hypocrites at best or have selfish motives at worst to dominate the world. When those who advocate the US should use their world power status to interfere (ala crusade) we fall into the trap of not able to live up to the ideals we lecture. That is why our founding fathers want us to be the New World or shining city on the hill for the world to see and emulate, and not the Leader of Democracy as advocated by Pres Wilson which entangles us in foreign affairs at cost to our reputation, ideals, blood and treasure only to have the ones we help turn around and spit on us.

No no, Americans did do any of that, it was your corrupt controlling government that stuck it's arrogant controlling azz into other countries biz, which acted all concerned about other countries rights and other countries borders while America and the American middle class circled the drain and went broke... How stooopid is that?

These corrupt American foreign policies which only benefited the extreme wealthy, have cost the American people untold many trillions in tax dollars and tens of thousands of American lives..

In fact, it's left America all but dead on the floor....

Not enough?

We were actually warned repeatedly about all this by the American founders...We were warned about the extreme wealthy, the bankers, the globalist, the dynasties, the U.N., and other wealthy controlling insiders.

We were warned about every bit of this.

Hannity has made the conscious choice to lay waste to his personal and professional legacy, to fade away as a has been who punched his ticket by selling out to the establishment he always yearned to become a member of in his years on the air.

He’s all for violent secession as long as his own darling children are no where near the frontlines fighting and dieing for the smoke and mirror emotional junk food pablums he spouts every day on the air.

He wouldn’t even dare spend a nickel supplying accoutrements to those who follow him down this one way road, for fear of loss of his own life, or even worse his own fortune being confiscated by the Feds before he can spend it all.

But man, his 55 second long musical intros between commercials selling shady Medicare Supplement policies should make me snap my fingers.

Good, thought provoking comment. As I look back on the undeclared wars and deaths to our young men, and now our young women too, I become more and more of an isolationist. I do not think we should ever send our troops into another country unless it is a declared war. And I think we need to fight such a war to win decisively, not controlled by some sort of idiotic rules of engagement sent out by Washington DC. I also think we need to close our borders tightly and sort out what we have let into our country. But I fear the proverbial cat is out of the bag on that subject!

Hannity’s viewership must be going down down down ... he is reaching for attention and this is looking more like he is interviewing blowup dolls asking why the Republicans didnt win the Presidental Election ... and the blow up dolls respond with sounds of helium which is the equivalent of what hot air comes out of both Hannity and his guests mouth.

When talking heads and his “Friends” walk the welfare communities and talk to people at that level ... then I might return to viewing on Fox until now Hannity and his “friends” are spewing hot air .... just sayin

During his expression of free speech, he suggested that the idea of states seceding from the Union was not at all a “radical concept”, and even suggested that the Declaration of Independence itself is a “radical document.”

Seems like there's a contradiction there. Maybe the people who keep saying that Sean's not to bright were on to something.

Secession would turn out to be a very radical idea. For example, Sean's going to feel awkward wrapping himself in the flag when it only has half the stars it does today.

More generally, splitting up the union would confirm that our era was over, and a lot of American rhetoric is going to sound quite hollow when we have to live with our failure to endure.

I think the whole secession conversation is a distraction from what should be the focus on the 10th amendment and the true exercise of Constitutional Federalism>

Isn’t Hannity part of the Washington and NY swamp?

I don’t think he has thought his opinion all the way through...we would be cutting off all ties from THEM.

Secession is implicit in the right of the people to consent to their government. If they do not consent, then they have every right to leave.

Well first and foremost, the states and the people can try to exercise their 10th amendment rights. And we are starting to see some of that now.

But if the federal government denies the exercise of such rights, then secession would be next up.

Glad Hannity brought that up.
