You can keep your guns. But, you will pay dearly and eventually have them confiscated anyway

Keep them, but pay dearly

You can keep your guns alright, but you're going to pay dearly for the privilege, end up marked and have them confiscated later anyway. A lot of folks don't want to hear that, but gun owners are being manipulated into a corner.

The powers that be who want us disarmed in order to control dissent want the guns, but must do so incrementally and make a large sum of money in the process. It's like being a smoker, you want 'em and they make you pay. He will issue executive orders, every one of which is going to cost gun owners dearly. Registration, licensing, short-term licensing requiring frequent renewal with ever-increasing licensing cost (already signed into law in New York by Cuomo). They will know where they are and take your money while you hold them and keep them in pristine condition for the day the government decides they have enough support to step in and take them. And, that's only the beginning.

Many of the executive orders and subsequent laws will make it very easy to violate one of those laws which will involve lawyers. This is a class of society to which the vast majority of Congressmen belong and from which many get their funds to run for Congress (i.e. guys like Mostyn). They WANT you to keep the guns, because they are going to be like leeches sucking you financially dry in the process.

Should the United States ever get some men and women of moral foundation (that IS the ultimate problem) into office, then articles of impeachment must be presented against Obama for all of this is a violation of the original 2nd Amendment and its intent. Stockman of Texas is right on in his assessment that if Obama and the Democrats continue, the violation of law must be called into question.

When I ask Mexicans why they do not go back to Mexico and revolt and clean up their governmental problems, the answer is quick and short, "The government will kill us." Very soon, we are going to be in the same predicament. The government is already aiding and abetting crime (Fast and Furious and welfare fraud) and does not want ANY dissent about its corrupt practices. It will all get a lot worse before it gets any better.

Ultimately, the entire question on every issue, be it abortion, guns, "cling to religion", etc., ad nauseum is that the United States has turned away from God and then has allowed immigration of millions from many different countries who do NOT follow what God teaches (even though some profess to be followers of God. The Bible addresses all of this and the consequences and you can go there to read the end of this story.

On Dec 8, 2009, Jesus and I had a little chat on the side of a mountain during a blizzard, after I had a little OOPS! slip/fall accident I wasn't expected to live through.

I'm not in charge. I have things I am required to do, but the outcome? In His Hands.

Can't be worse than that night.

They probably wont get around to it, because they will have crashed the economy before long,
and will be sorta busy dealing with social chaos as people go 'Mad Max' fighting for necessities.

Thank You,

So far, so good. This is better than Lerking, I get to sound off from time to time. So far the flame suit is unused.

Simple. But not easy for everybody (I've had to learn that recently).

Easy for me. Kids are grown and gone, I've met the grandkids, I actually like a couple of them.

I live alone. I still do daily PT. So it's simple and easy for me.

For those with small children? Not so simple, not so easy.

It's going to be up to old, grumpy farts to do the civil disobedience thing.

Keep it handy. In English, the word is spelled 'lurking'.

Do I guess correctly that you are well under age 40?

If you think so....

Last I heard, you were around when dirt was invented and Moses was an E-3.

It’s unconstitutional to license a right.

What's the next right to be eroded? Will we have to get a license to write a blog expressing a political viewpoint? To attend the church of our choosing? To associate with whomever we want?

Someone will bring this up sooner or later, but assuming you are right (that the government will "make us pay dearly" for our 2nd amendment rights), how can they justify it?

The Bill of Rights should apply equally to the poor as well as the rich. Unjust and excessive taxation of gun ownership is discrimination against the poor.

The SCOTUS says that a woman's right to privacy (i.e. abortion) is so important that the taxpayers must provide it for free to those unable to afford it.

They said that a person's right to vote was absolute, such that any attempt to charge a fee (poll tax) was unconstitutional.

Is Sandra Fluke's right to birth control more important than a single mother's right to protect her family?

We must get the backing of states, or break away areas within states, to openly defy the federal government on blatantly unconstitutional laws and mandates, thereby bringing us into conflict. The feds must be put in a position to accept us retaking our liberty, or using armed force against the state to impose tyranny. The American public will not support the price that it would take on both sides for this aggression, and neither will many who would potentially be the ones to enforce tyranny.

Even a smaller group of armed patriots gathered openly would cause hesitation because of the unpopular toll that it would take defeating them. Liberals for the most part wouldn't accept any action any more than Conservatives, and Obama doesn't control a giant robotic force that can't refuse orders.

One of the rumored executive orders Obama will issue will withhold state funds if not obeyed. That's the kind of issues that should be openly defied, and once they try withholding funds then federal tax collection should be stopped. Our best option is getting them to come to us anyway we can before having to go to them. I think it can be much more successful than an armed march on Washington, or having to make the first move to fight. Each side would rather the other escalate any violence, before reacting with violence. Having a specific enemy, and a preferred outlet to act is wanted, but is something you should assume won't be the case.

Open defiance at the local level of these issues and others like Obamacare also have the most potential for a peaceful outcome. I don't think the feds would fill comfortable escalating the situation. The stronger the patriot force and resolve, the less likely they would underestimate the toll that aggression would cost. I believe we can have a peaceful revolt this way, but we all have to do what we can to get things moving in time if it's going to be possible.

JRF,

I went Galut in 98. I will be 72 in March. Two years ago my wife’s friend was kidnapped from the local Fred’s parking lot and murdered. I thought it a wise move to get a concealed carry permit at the time and I now accompany her whenever she goes shopping.

Today I received a letter from The State of Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to submit $50.00 and a completed form to renew my permit that expires on May 1st. Now I find myself of 2 minds. Should I renew or just let it lapse since odds are within 2 years I will be considered a criminal for the simple possession of the firearm?

In either case I do not intend to relinquish my God given right to protect myself and my family and I expect they will get my gun and it’s ammo, after I have discharged it all in their general direction, hopefully from my still warm dead hand. I will not kneel to the false god.
