If she makes it, H.R.226 - Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Roads, Streets and Highways Act, Barry could add on some “stimulus” bucks.

Why that looks like a national buyback tax credit of $2000 per "assault weapon". Going nowhere. No socialist liberal would ever allow a $2k tax credit. They'll just take your guns and charge you for the convenience. ... on the other hand I'm sure I can scrounge up some "assault weapons" cheap enough I could wipe out my tax burden...

Oh, wonderful.

The IRS is now involved.

Aren’t they a well funded, well armed force of SWAT operatives ?

Who has a TON of ammo and rifles ?

This is gonna be interesting.

If I read that right, it's a $2,000 tax credit, $1,000 the year it's turned in and another $1,000 the next year.

That is a lot of money and people not serious about their guns will probably do it but they weren't gun people to start with.

I, however, love each and every one of my guns and wait until the PINK Ruger 22 LR gets here - no way anyone is getting all my guns and my PINK rifle. It will be so pretty I should put it on a pink marble top coffee table I have just to show it off. Charge admission to see the beautiful pink rifle.

Instead of “Cash-for-Clunkers “ , this proposed bill will be petty much named : “Change-for-Plinkers “ ??

Personally , I would rather keep to the title , and vote for the reduction of streets !

You just know it's a good bill because the acronym spells "SAFER"!

(Actually it spells "SAFERSA", but you get the point)

I just checked with POPVOX and users are saying they support this bill at 5% with 41 users and they oppose this bill at 95% with 802 users to date.

Good site to track all bills in the House and senate

Nope you can only get the credit for 1 firearm. Of course the way it is written you could go to Walmart buy their cheapest 22 semi-auto run a tap on the front of the barrel. turn it in and get the credit.

Knew it was to good to be true. All that would be required for any fire arm to be banned would be it’s adoption by the Federal Government.

(L) A semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General. In making the determination, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any Federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.

That’s that Alice the goon-looking friend of Nancy Pelosi. A dingbat from Connecticut.

What do they do...sit around all day long and try to come up with a name for a piece of worthless legislation that has a catchy acronym??? What a bunch of dangerous dunces.

Oh, how clever. The SAFER act. Worthless politicians love to spell out words with their legislation. Like the COINS act or the PATRIOT act. Ted Kennedy was chairman of the HELP committee (health, education, labor and pensions).

Nauseating!
