President Promotes “National Day of Service”
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 18 Jan 2013 | John Semmens

Posted on 01/20/2013 11:04:11 AM PST by John Semmens

President Barack Obama is asking every American to help celebrate his second inauguration by “making an effort to serve America and your community by donating your time to the public good.”

“Too many Americans are wrapped up in selfish pursuits most of the time,” the President said. “They place ‘making a buck,’ spending time with friends and family, and enjoying life ahead of serving others. What I am asking is that on the day of my inauguration everyone divert themselves from these egocentric activities and do something useful for their fellow human beings.”

Obama suggested that “participating in a food drive, picking up litter, or visiting a seniors’ home might be good ways to pay society back for the privilege of living in our great country. If we start by dedicating one day this year we can work our way toward dedicating everyday to the general welfare of humanity. This would the proudest legacy I could bestow upon the world.”

I don’t know about anyone here, but my National Day of Service occurrs when I hit the time clock in the morning and ends when I punch out.

After work, we’ll be at the range shooting, a more fitting way to spend the day.

Obama suggested that “visiting a seniors’ home might be good ways to pay society back for the privilege of living in our great country.”

Which explains why when the Emporer’s name is mentioned the reply is often, “I’m glad I’m on the way out.”

Note to Granny: It won’t be long, he’ll help you right along.

You will do whatever it takes to support the Fatherland, no sacrifice is to great! All hail the Fatherland, all hail Obama! (do I have to tag this as sarcasm?)

The Bolsheviks called them “subbotniks” - “volunteer” forced labor by the “free” population.

“You will do whatever it takes to support the Fatherland, no sacrifice is to great! All hail the Fatherland,”

Didn’t you get the memo? It’s Homeland, warm, fuzzy, less threatening. Fatherland is sooooooo sexist... No stiff arm salutes..High Fives is much less threatening!! Don’t believe me? I saw the emporer himself high fiving his human kiddie shield the other day.

My “National Day of Service” is everyday I go into work (on very reduced hours....now with this new tax, they take 5-6 hours per paycheck)so the government can steal my money to hand out to others.

FUBO. Go back to hell where you belong!

Amen. Right now 3 to 4 of every eight hours I put in are confiscated by one government entity or another. I gave at the office was never more true.

“I don’t know about anyone here, but my National Day of Service occurrs when I hit the time clock in the morning and ends when I punch out.”

Oh, I don’t spend ALL of my day on it, just somewhere between three and four hours.

How about a National Day of PTTTTTP!

Makes more sense in light of Bronco Bama, and WAY more satisfying.

Let me see.

I guess National Day of Service is when “US” and “OUR SPOUSES” take a day of leave without pay, gather the family, go to WalMart, get a lot of cleaning supplies etc and descend on the ‘Minority Community’ and mow their lawns, clean the streets, clean their houses - LIKE it isn’t enough that many are living in subsidized housing, food stamps, disability for drug and alcohol usage etc etc..using OUR tax money..making sure we don’t get there early so as not to awaken them.

In return, the ‘able bodied’ leeches amongst them will go ransack OUR homes while WE are cleaning theirs.

Is this a great country or what?
