Groupon has canceled, at least temporarily, all of its scheduled and ongoing gun-related promotions, Matt Brownell at Aol Daily Finance reported.
“All scheduled and current gun-related deals featured on Groupon North America, including shooting ranges, conceal-and-carry and clay shooting, have been placed on hiatus while we review internal standards that shape the deal inventory we feature,” a Groupon spokesperson told Daily Finance.
“The category is under review following recent consumer and merchant feedback.”
Michael Cargill, the owner of a gun shop in Texas, said that his Groupon deal — for a concealed handgun training course — was canceled and that the representative told him Groupon CEO Andrew Mason was behind the decision.

Never used them, but it sure is a reason not to use them. Good excuse to tell the local organizations that sell these things for funding.

We use Groupon frequently, and in fact the Mrs. And I were looking at a deal on an indoor shooting range here in DFW....Hope they make the right choice, we can live without Groupon.

The range I go to has always had at least a couple groups of people coming in for their Groupon session. As busy as things are nowadays, they probably want their normal paying customers to get the time in, at full price, without the long waits.:-)
Groupon sucks anyhow. The other half wasted money twice on them. Both Groupons were a total fiasco and loss.
Any corporation which is anti-civil rights is anti-contract law.

Emailed my displeasure but I requested to stay on the list; just so I can know what local businesses are up for boycott.

I assume he is getting pressure from the anti-gun crowd.
He is possible still sitting on the fence. Many businessmen don’t concern themselves with with political issues till events them forced to make a choice. Do we want to knock him off the fence on the anti-gun side or convince him to come down on our side? Many citizens or so busy living there lives they forget about why they have the freedoms that they do. We need them to look past the next paycheck or business quarter and see what they will lose in the long run it the make the wrong short term choice. Before we tar and feather him let show him we will support him if he makes the right choice. And then if needed we can tar and feather him.

I am contacting merchants whose business I began patronizing through Groupon. I am stating that if they continue to advertise on Groupon I will cease to patronize them.
I think the gun industry will wither away and die without groupon.
