Sandy Hook - it doesn't pass the smell test.

Posted on 01/24/2013 11:04:39 AM PST by eastexsteve

Though I have never thought of myself as a conspiracy nut, there are just some things about this incident that don’t pass the smell test for me. Perhaps there are some of you out there who can help me through some of this confusion. I speak as someone who owns many guns, including a couple AR-15 variants. (Well, maybe I’m a nut after all.) But, be that as it may, I think I have a few unanswered questions that haven’t been mentioned before on this topic.

1) A day after the shooting occurred, NBC News and the morning show in particular, were discussing how the Bushmaster rifle used by the killer was actually found in the trunk of his car, and up to four handguns were found in the school. This indicates he did not use the rifle. Though I realize that preliminary news reports can sometimes be sketchy on an incident like this, this was NBC, and not some fly by night news agency. And, NBC was not the only agency to report this. And, this was a full 24 hours after the incident occurred. I’ll let this stand on its own merits.

2) In discussing this with anti-gun people, they are quick to tell me that the medical examiner had determined that the victims were killed with a Bushmaster rifle. I would like to know how he was able to determine it was a Bushmaster, and not one of the other hundred AR-15 variants?

3) I also take issue with something else the medical examiner said. In his report, he said something to the effect of: “..the shooter used ammunition designed for maximum tissue damage..” This statement alludes to the use of hollow point ammunition. Have you ever tried to buy any 5.56 hollow point ammunition? Have you ever even seen any? To my knowledge, Hornady is the only manufacturer that makes these rounds in 5.56, and I’ve never been able to find any in the years I’ve been shooting, much less been able to buy any. And, this type of hollow point ammunition is very expensive. From what I understand, it costs 2 to 3 times as much as the standard hardball 5.56 ammunition. The news has the killers mother painted as a “survivalist.” This type of high dollar ammunition is not something a survivalist would buy, even if she could find it. Sorry, but unless I actually see the bullets, I’m not sold on the idea that he used hollow point ammunition in an AR-15 rifle.

4) Also, Lanza supposedly did all this killing by walking into a room with a concrete floor and concrete or brick walls, and started shooting. I guarantee you, those AR-15 bullets would be bouncing around in that room like superballs. How on earth did he keep from getting struck by a ricocheting round?

5) One thing about AR-15 variant rifles. They are semi-auto rifles with side ejection ports and 16 inch barrels. Those guns are LOUD. They are exponentially louder than the automatic pistols Lanza was carrying. They are so loud that if you have the misfortune of standing in front of the muzzle or close to the side proximity of the muzzle of one as it is being fired, it could very easily damage are hearing. Supposedly, Lanza walked into enclosed school rooms and capped off 30 or more rounds. Yet, I hear no mention about the victims or survivors suffering any hearing damage. Really?

6) Also, in regard to the report those rifles make, I performed a little experiment in the shop attached to my barn. I took one of my AR-15 rifles and fired it into a makeshift bullet trap while my wife and two neighbors stood outside. I then asked them to describe what they heard. Witnesses in the Sandy Hook school building reported hearing a “pop, pop, pop” sound when describing the shooting. When I performed my little experiment, neither my wife nor my neighbors described the sound as being “pop, pop, pop.” They described it being VERY loud, and being “BANG, BANG, BANG” and even “BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.” Now, it has been my experience that “pop, pop, pop” is the sound most semi-automatic pistols would make under those conditions.

I don’t know that anyone actually initiated a cover-up to make it look like the Sandy Hook shooter used a Bushmaster rifle when he actually used his handguns. But, then again, I wouldn’t have believed that Fast and Furious could happen. But, it did. From what I can tell, and from what I've seen, everything about this points to a semi-auto pistol, and not a Bushmaster rifle.

Sandy Hook police report still months away

HARTFORD — A final report on the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elemenmtary School is likely months away, and it may take even longer before its findings are made public.

State police are not expected to wrap up the criminal investigation of the Newtown school shooting until June at the earliest, according to Danbury State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky.

His office is responsible for reviewing the investgation’s findings and issuing a final report on the incident.

Sedensky told a special comission that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy appointed that he is not anticipating that the investgation will result in any criminal prosecutions.

If that changes, it could delay the release of the final report on the investigation into the mass murder of 20 first-graders and six staff members at Sandy Hook while any criminal cases are pending.

Sednesky offered to share information with the Sandy Hook Advisory Committee that does not compromise the ongoing criminal probe.

However, he said he will be unlikely to offer any insight into the mental state of the the Sandy Hook shooter because any records relating to the 20-year-old man’s mental health are confidential.

The gubernatorial commission met for the first time Thursday. Malloy appointed the group to help him develop responses to the Sandy Hook shooting.

Malloy reminded panel members that he is looking for recxommendations for reducing gun violence, bolstering school safety and improveing mental health services.

The governor gave the Sandy Hook commission a March 15 deadline to report back to him.

“In EVERY shooting such as Newton, almost the first thing that the cops & media did was to hold up the weapon used for all to see.”

When do they do this? I’ve seen them do it at trials, but never shortly after the shooting. Got links to any videos to back that up?

No offense meant sir but If I may suggest you should definitely listen to an interview conducted by Joyce Riley with a gentleman named Michael Powers. It runs for one hour and twenty six minutes and can be found at a multitude of Internet sites including YouTube.

It will provide you with the clearest, most concise answers to all your question. There are a multitude of highly suspect blog pieces all over the Internet which are filled with incorrect and misleading information. You will find NONE of that in this interview. Without a doubt the most authoritative discussion I have been able to find by an expert in both weaponry and criminal investigation.

The are a large number of FR skeptics who always rise to the occasion re: These types of incidents. I suggest they too listen to the complete interview.

“What difference does it make?”

I think we can start just using:

So.......you don’t know?

No, and neither do you.

And you don't care. You're just arguing, because that's what you like to do. :-)

OK, simple question :

Since the perp is dead, who would they go after in a criminal investigation? ?????

#1 - Correct
#2 - Hogwash. Witnesses are notoriously unreliable, especially under stress. Guys running by the window could easily have been cops responding, not other shoots. Who said the man chased down by police was armed?
#3 - Hogwash, we already know.
#4 - Possibly correct, they have said they probably won’t release the full toxicology report, but we’ll have to wait and see.
#5 - Correct
#6 - Total hogwash. We already know the weapons used. The ME never changed his story. The locals never said handguns were used, that was all reported in the media attributed to unnamed federal officials, most likely from the DOJ.

Oh well, I guess you could say 2 out of 6 ain’t bad.

Okay, I probably posted badly.

What I meant was that after 6-8 weeks, the ‘official facts’ should be pretty much nailed-down, but they aren’t at all. There are so many discrepancies in the various accounts, it’s mind-boggling and I truly wondering if an ‘gun control agenda conspiracy’ does exist. I’m thinking it does.

1 + 2 = 9 - 4 = 11 - 8 = 2 + 3 = 0...

I suspect we won’t get an official report, until we get AWB 2.0. Then the public will see the report...and if he didn’t even use the AR-15, ‘oh well - what difference does it make’ will be the standard line.

“What difference, at this point, does it make,” screamed Senator Dianne Feinstein...

Many things about the “official” or MSM version of the Sandy Hook shooting trouble me and make me believe the accounts are dishonest.

1. Mother not teacher at school. Why account after account of her being a teacher?

2. Weird guy with 25 children mysteriously brought to his house blocks from the school. In one version he said a man brought them. In another version he said a female school bus driver just dropped them off. Makes no sense. Yet man is called “Sandy Hook hero” in MSM accounts.

2. No injuries. Just deaths. No ambulances at the scene. No children or adults brought to hospitals.

3. Adam Lanza hadn't seen brother in over 2 years. How did he get brothers ID?

4. Where has Adam Lanza been for last 2 plus years. No record of being student or working.

5. Why kill children at school? Adam Lanza had no connection to school.

6. Why did Adam Lanza erase/destroy all computer info?

7. How did Adam Lanza die? Who killed him?

8. Why did Adam Lanza kill his mother and then go to a school he had no connection with to kill children?

No I am saying the conspiracy nuts are drawing their conclusions from data they don’t have. Their whole argument is around the idea “I don’t know what happened but the official version isn’t true”.
How do you now the official version isn’t true if you don’t know what happened?
It’s like the 9/11 Truthers. All their evidence was stuff they didn’t know.

Kind of like the details of the Reichstag fire in 1933 that were conveniently lost when a Jewish scapegoat was found and quickly tried and executed...it fit Hitler's narrative and was the excuse to declare a national emergency and suspend human rights.

The details of Sandy Hook shootings are being molded by the White House propagandists with the willing cooperation of the media to fit Obama's narrative. Like the Reichstag fire this "crisis" will be used by Obama as an all out assault on the Bill of Rights. We are on our way to becoming a totalitarian state.

“Can you really tell me that there is a natural, psycological reason for someone to murder a kindergarten class and that demonic possession did not play a role?”

Yes I can.

“Running amok, sometimes referred to as simply amok[1] (also spelled amuk, from the Malay meaning “mad with uncontrollable rage”) is a term for a killing spree perpetrated by an individual out of rage or resentment over perceived mistreatment. The syndrome of “Amok” is found in the DSM-IV TR.[2”

“”Running amok” is used to refer to the behavior of someone who, in the grip of strong emotion, obtains a weapon and begins attacking people indiscriminately, often with multiple fatalities. The slang term going postal is similar in scope. Police describe such an event as a killing spree. If the individual is seeking death an alternate method is often suicide by cop.

“Amok is often described as a culture-bound (or culture-specific) syndrome,[9][10] which is a psychological condition whose manifestation is strongly shaped by cultural factors. Other reported culture-bound syndromes are latah and koro. Amok is also sometimes considered one of the subcategories of dissociative disorders (cross-cultural variant).”

Narratives were being modified on-the-fly as alterations were being applied in real time to a pre-scripted scenario?

Yeah, “running amok” is a pseudo-science term for “demonic possession”.

“And every little boy obeyed ?”

No, I’m sure a lot of kids peeked. So what? That actually works against the conspiracy theorists, since if they peeked and saw no bodies, no carnage, then some would have told their parents, and we’d have heard all about it by now.
