Over 8 Million Leave Labor Force under Obama
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 9 Feb 2013 | John Semmens

Posted on 02/11/2013 10:05:49 AM PST by John Semmens

In what the Obama Administration is characterizing as a “great surge in human freedom,” it was reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that there are 8.5 million fewer people in the labor force than when Obama took office in January of 2009.

“The Great Emancipator himself only freed 4 million slaves,” said Press Secretary Jay Carney. “Without the bloodshed of a civil war, President Obama has enabled more than twice as many to escape from the drudgery of having to work for a living.”

Carney boasted that “those in the GOP who try to cast this achievement as a negative development are misconstruing how the average American sees what this president has done for them.”

Thus improving the unemployment statistics.

You aren't unemployed if you've "left the work force".

See?

John continues to let the Obamists satirize themselves. Good job.

I know this is satire, but the number of people who are claiming disability described in this fake article is accurate. It is scandalous that our media has hardly made mention to this alarming statistic. When the media cite figures suggesting that the employment situation has gotten better, they never explain that a big reason for the improved overall employment rate is that labor participation is at its lowest rate in modern history. So, the 7.9% rate that they describe as being so good is only a result of losing a big chunk of people who have quit looking for work or found some way to collect disability, which, by the way, pays a lot more than an unemployment check. Convenient, how so many people are finding disabilities now-a-days.

The number of people seeking disability has spawned a new industry of disability lawyers. They know exactly what must be written on the applications, what conditions would be approved, and which doctors to use to guarantee disability. You’ve probably seen their commercials on TV.

Sure have.

These disability lawyers promise fast, easy money. Why collect measly unemployment benefits when you can get SSI or social security disability? Additionally, Trial lawyers promise money from specious law suits. JG Wentworth and other lenders specialize in law suit gotten gains. “Get the money now that you deserve”, all the while viking clad actors sing their jingle. The whole system has become sick with people trying to steal other people’s money, winning the lottery, and just wanting to get a payday without having to work for it. I realize that there are legitimate reasons to hire such attorneys, but the abuse of the system is out of control.

I have more freedom to ride my bicycle instead of the car. More time, less money.

Are you happy that way or would your rather have full time employment? If you are happy and you can afford it, more power to you. Money isn’t everything. I could make more than I do right now, but I value my free time more than a few extra bucks.
