Inspired by FReeper Catfish1957: "Simple solution. Totally dismantle the federal government outside Defense, Treasury, and State.

Delegate any other service to each individual state.

Fedzilla must die."

Dude, I said this at the time to Catfish1957 and I’ll say it to you.

The Postal Service has to stay federal. It’s in the Constitution. Likewise, federal courts are provided by the Constitution. Article III provides a federal court system.

I agree with you to a certain extent. A lot of this should be turned back over to the states, or to private enterprise. But when you trample on the Constitution like this, you invite reasoned comparisons with Obama and the Democrats.

Anything that falls outside of Art 1 Sec 8, EXPLICITLY... not "implicitly" under some penumbra or emanation, needs to be excised.

Completely. Meat axe? I'd use a chainsaw.

The USC should be scrubbed to reflect this as well. Crap like Title 18 Sec 922 needs to be redacted with prejudice.

In every congressional session Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ) introduces the Enumerated Powers Act. It would erase all laws on the books that are not constitutionally enumerated and prohibit any new proposals that cannot be cited by constitutional compliance.

Secession is the ultimate form of repeal. Accept no substitutes.

Funny thing is, these days no one would even think you need an amendment to institute an income tax. Getting rid of the 16th might not get rid of the IRS.

10-4, return to USConstitution is the only USA way; un-pass all other _legislation_.

Must re-empower states by retracting their Senate vote and both re-empower states and un-empower -Reserve-zila- (the _Fed_Reserve_) by retracting _Federal_Income_Tax_ it may or may not remain as a what it actually is a, Corporate Income Tax, only.

You have a point. The nation's idiot factor is quite high; hence Obama. And I'm not too sure even cutting off funding would stop the fed. Their recourse may be to simply demand the fed print whatever they require, temporarily at least.

One can only hope the process will educate the masses. Ultimately, it is the states who will have to forcibly act to regain control of an out of control federal government. The feds aren't going to give up any authority, legal or otherwise, easily.

No bucks, now Buck Rogers - is how the feds coerce the states. Don't play along, your highway funding and other projects get cut. Heck the feds even bypass the states and go directly to local the local governs. These would be in a world of hurt without that federal nipple. So states, why don't you at least attempt to return the favor; perhaps by repealing the 16th?

Realistically, IMO, we have about as much of a chance of stopping this federal monster as other societies have had throughout history, or as snowball in hell wouold have for that matter. Gotta try though - we Americans love a fight! ;)

I respect your adherence to all constitutional provisons. Any axeing should be done according to the rules. At least now. The federal courts may end up being a necessary entity as an (at least) intermediary among the states. As far as the Postal Service..... Axe that dog (constituonally of course), and privitize it.

Fedzilla has gobbled up $17T, and seriously threatened the economic viablility of our futute.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The Postal Service is Federally AUTHORIZED, not Federally MANDATED.

“The Congress shall have power
..
To establish Post Offices and post Roads;”

Not, as you seem to think, “The Congress MUST establish Post Offices and post Roads.”

Yep, if fedzilla does not die we will...
I call fedzilla the federal “G” as in gangsta..
the fed g should be bound to the money the states give for specific projects, ie, the federal g should have NO ability to raise any funds, the states should be required to have balanced budget ammendments all operating under the same accounting practices, so apples are apples, if the states wish to sponser a fed g project they allocate the excess funds from their budgets for the specific projects..all projects should be run by state inspectors..If we starve the beast it will lash out, if we don’t we will die out as a nation..

Excellent comments. Also few in the general populus realize that probably 70-80% of what the “gubmit” provides is redundant with a mirroring state agency. As a wealthy nation, this was stupid but tolerable. Now as we slip down the slippery slope of bankruptcy, we just don’t have that luxury anymore.

Keep the “STATE DEPT”? Absolutely not. If not eliminated it must be cleaned out from stem to stern. I don’t care if it is the person who sweeps the floors. This department contains the highest percentage of communists of any department short of possibly the EPA.

McCarthy was right and that is why there was a full court Saul Alinsky style press to demean him. His only real fault was underestimating the number of communists in the State Department.

PURGE the State Department of everyone, then rebuild it. YES EVERYONE!

Can you imagine what Joe McCarthy would be thinking if he saw our government right now?

He, like the Founders would be ashamed of us all that we allowed this to happen.

Jefferson would say, what’s the matter with you morons, we gave you the tools to prevent this and you have surrendered those tools.
