Primaries are key to success. It starts with good local Republicans from city/township board, to county commissioners, to state reps/senators, to congress/senate/governor. If we want conservatives in higher office, we need a good farm club.
I have the best congressman in the state. Tim Walberg. He didn't just appear out of nowhere. He was a state rep. He's also a Republican so keep in mind that the 2% from third parties punish good people like Walberg as much as a bum like Romney.
Nah...it was the freaking moderate republican VOTERS who gave us McCain & Romney by out voting the conservatives in the millions. There is no way Romney wins nomination if the conservatives presented a united front. But Newt & Rick & Perry fought each other instead of uniting behind a single candidate.
No. We did not offer anything else to the Republican voter because we allow asshats like Karl friggin rove to keep the Republican Party, Dhimmicrat Lite.
And we lost those presidential elections because 8000000 conservative voters stayed home on Election Day after being screwed in the primaries by the Roves of the party
Got to give it to those friggin Dhimicrats. They give all to their base. The RINO party tells its base FU, base.
The democrat party is not homogeneous. It is a conglomeration of rich white liberals, African-Americans, union members in government and private sector, homosexuals, women’s lib, new immigrants, Hollywood, poor whites on welfare, poor non-whites on welfare (twice as many whites on welfare as non-whites overall), eco-freaks, man made global warming believers, women who want abortion at any time, community organizers, and a whole bunch of other miscreants.
That is a formidable group and it is growing! No wonder democrats have ruled the congress for 3 times as many years as GOP Over the last 60 years.
If someone told you conservatives can win majority in congress all by themselves, they lied to you. A good conservative can win now only if they are an astute, smooth, politically savvy, and have plenty of campaign cash. That is just the reality. Look at how many great conservatives have lost recently...Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, George Allen, Joe Miller, Ken Buck, Doug Hoffman, JD Hayworth...etc.
Why did they lose? Most were bad candidates politically.
Good politicans who are conservative have also won elections. Such as Pat Toomey, John Boozman, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Roy Blunt, Kelly Ayotte, John Hoeven, Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, Jeff Flake, Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Scott Walker, John Kasich, Rick Scott, Nikki Haley, Haley Barbour, Bobby Jindal etc. Most of these folks preached inclusive message, following Reagan’s 11th commandment. I have not heard any of the winners disparaging moderate republican voters.
Observe and learn and become wise, or bury head in the sand and become an ostrich. Choice is ours.

Losing the base is what the Republican Party has done to lose elections.

I think you have a point regarding disparaging.
That doesn’t mean moderate your values but instead of disparaging, we should educate. We love to eat our own, why not feed our own our values and use it as an exercise in marketing so we can then expand selling them to the left and converting more.

You got it brother. I have voted for the most conservative candidate who is electable since 1970 when I was fortunate to acquire US citizenship.
You will never ever catch me disparaging any republican VOTER. I am quite combative during primaries in support of my candidate and pointing out weaknesses of the opponents. But once primaries are over, I act mature & wise and do not take my marbles home if my candidate loses.
