I (and apparently a lot of others in Teh Intarwebz) find it to be a challenge to "name that tune."

Sounds like Bill Evans at first. But then comes the sappy sax.
To: martin_fierro
I can’t identify the song, but the saxophonist sounds a lot like Coltrane.

Hmmm. Sounds a little like Bill Evans.

Yep, tried Shazam already. That thing never works for me. < |:(~
To: martin_fierro
It might be a custom written piece for the commercial.
I think Shazam has a problem because the guy is talking in the background.

Yeah, I was afraid of that.
Still, the song has a “vintage vibe” to it.

I don't know that tune, but I've been amazed at some of the background music I've been hearing on TV ads. For example, a recent Kia spot featured Bobby Day & the Satellites' obscure 1958 release
Beep-Beep-Beep. And another ad featured
I Love You, California, a tune which few Californians know, even though it's our state song.

Mostly works for me, but this little piece was too short and the voice-over probably didn’t help either.
Perhaps: A little jingle made just for this commercial.

Sounds like variations on ‘I Dream of You’. Brubeck did it as a cut on one of his records, IIRC.

Could it be: No Problem by Art Blakely's Jazz Messengers from their 1962 album 'Les Liaisons Dangereuses,'
To: martin_fierro
A company called ‘Sound Tree’ has done custom music for Stella Artois. Stella Artois has also used Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers for spots.

Thanks for those links, the CA state song was interesting and awful. It’s no wonder no one knows it.
