The next amnesty would apply to at least 40 million illegal aliens
Examiner ^ | Dec. 2012 | Dave Gibson

Just how many so-called 'new Americans' are we talking about?

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan granted amnesty .... At the time, we were told that population was about 1.5 million. However, amnesty was actually granted to three million of those who crossed our borders illegally.

Between 1987 and 2005, the average annual number of apprehensions made at the U.S./Mexican border was roughly 1.3 million, with arrests reaching a peak of 1.6 million in 2000.

However, in June 2010, former president of the National Border Patrol Council, T.J. Bonner told Fox News that for every person caught trying to enter this country illegally over the U.S./Mexican border…at least two more successfully make it here.

"We’re about 33 percent effective. It's like shoveling sand against the tide," said Bonner.

So, using Bonner’s rather conservative estimate, 41.8 million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. since the 1986 amnesty.

DHS also deports those who entered the country legally on legitimate visas, but who either committed a crime while here or simply overstayed their visa.

So, we do not know exactly how many removals involved those who crossed into the U.S., by eluding the Border Patrol. However, when the DHS is deporting 400,000 foreign nationals while an estimated 1 million crossed the border illegally that same year…it is obvious that the federal government is losing ground each and every year.

Furthermore, when you consider that all of the amnesty bills proposed since 2006, contain a provision to eventually allow each amnestied illegal alien, to then bring 4 to 5 relatives to the U.S., you are looking at a truly astounding number of individuals.

If Congress does pass an amnesty bill, the resulting chain-migration could translate into an additional 200 million new U.S. citizens, or legal residents, practically overnight.

“So you’re retracting your claim that I support amnesty? Thank you. :)”

You are appallingly dishonest! I didn’t say that either!

Here’s what I said:
“If you’re for amnesty or open borders, just say so! But STOP LYING about what people say!”

Who the hell knows what you are for except to be a lying pain in the ass. Now, since you can’t tell the truth, you and I are DONE!

Hey, Dragnet...wonder which retread this is??? Ah....reminds me of the good old days.

Yes, yes you did. You claimed I supported Amnesty. I don’t. I also don’t believe that there are 100 million Chinese people wanting to immigrate to America.

They “estimated” for the ones they missed. The districts have already been allotted. They will get re-allotted again in 2020.

Some Iillegal aliens are already voting, but giving them “legal status” will, inevitably, lead to “a path to citizenship” followed by Democrat landslides as far as the eye can see. Dunno how the ‘Pubbies miss this. Oh, well. It’s the Stupid Party.

Here is the bottom line from James T. Walsh an author I have been suggesting has it correct for years now. every once in a while I get an audience maybe now that we are on the precipice of letting some 38 million into the country more people will get interested.

Walsh a lawyer scholar and former govt. worker makes an excellent case for huge number of illegals crossing the borders and also includes numbers form Canada as well. My estimate of 38 million illegal aliens residing in the United States is calculated, however, using a conservative annual rate of entry (allowing for deaths and returns to their homelands) of three illegal aliens entering the United States for each one apprehended. My estimate includes apprehensions at the Southern Border (by far, the majority), at the Northern Border, along the Pacific, Atlantic, and Gulf of Mexico coasts, and at seaports and airports. Taking the DHS average of 1.2 million apprehensions per year and multiplying it by 3 comes to 3.6 million illegal entries per year; then multiplying that number by 10 for the 1996–2005 period, my calculations come to 36 million illegal entries into the United States. Add to this the approximately 2 million visa overstays during the same period, and the total is 38 million illegal aliens currently in the United States. Illegal Aliens: Counting the Uncountable is the book.

The last stats I saw, don’t have a link handy, suggested that a little over 50% of the illegals were of Mexican decent.
The rest come from central, South America,The Caribbean, and the rest of the world. Mexico being such an easy entry into the US illegals from all over the world use it as an entry point.

Democrats ‘sell’ citizenship in exchange for these people voting for them. If we’re going to whore the country let’s make some real money at it - let’s sell citizenship to the highest bidder and use the money to pay down the debt.

We could do worse... wait - we ARE doing worse... Seriously, not only would they be smart - they would have money. It's nuts letting dems trade citizenship for votes...

“The most interesting point, which proves Mexicans do NOT want to be part of this nation, only bleed it for what they can get while they remain loyal to Mexico is this..”

Illegals are loyal to their own countries. They may be up here, but they are patriots.

In this regard they are vastly superior to the amensty Quislings, the treason lobby of the GOP and the Democrats... people who will sell out their country for political advantage. And that includes Rubio, and Rand Paul, and far too many of the opportunists who plan on running for President.

” I would put the number of Hispanic illegals at 30M minimum.”

One Wall Street firm did its own estimation of the number of illegals in the US... it may have been 10 years ago by now... and they came up with nearly 30 million.

This was an attempt to estimate the size of the illegal alien ‘market’ for investment purposes, so it was as devoid of political spin as you are going to get. The 11 million number is a vast underestimate touted by politicians who don’t want the American public to get angry over their refusal to enforce our law and deport the foreign nationals squatting here illegally.

“In addition, you never see the vast millions of Chinese and Vietnamese here. “

You can if you know where to look. And in SoCal there are millions of Indians and Arabs and just about every nationality you can name living here in contempt of the law. It’s no secret to anyone in the world that the only thing that you need to do to live in America is to buy a plane ticket. And then you just stay as long as you like.

They even sell books on how to exploit the American welfare system in most of these countries. You are paying foreign nationals to come here in violation of the law.

Your statistics are irrelevant, your calculations are meaningless and your perspective is false because they do not take into account the 3rd world hellholes the vast majority of immigrants and illegals are fleeing from - and how much better the “poor” live in this country than in the countries they flee.

Immigration is not a function of only US job “demand.” In fact, for decades, no matter what US economic conditions were at any given time, legal immigrants have been coming at the rate of 1 million a year. And since the last Amnesty, illegals have flooded in at a rate of over 1 million/year during all US economical cycles.

Why? Because immigrants & illegals don't consult the Wall Street Journal, Barron's or the Bureau of Labor Statistics before leaving.

They come hell-what-may because they know the worst conditions in the US are better than the best conditions for the vast majority in the 3rd world. Because their standard is merely “better than 3rd world” - they can always 1) work for less than Americans 2) live well on extensive public assistance and private charity unavailable back home 3) take advantage of criminal opportunities unavailable or more mildly punished than in their home country. (You can't follow the news, without noticing how prominently foreigners figure in stories of medicaid fraud, food stamp fraud, earned income credit fraud, drug rings, prostitution rings, and on and on.....)

They know that even working only a few days a week, the peanuts they earn will still be more than what they can earn by breaking their backs 7 days a week in their home country. Even working part-time or not at all, they can live better here. Do you think “poor people” in Mexico/China are obese, have wide-screen TVs, get food-stamps, have their kids fed free breakfast and lunch in school, can walk into any hospital and get the most modern medical care for free...?

If America does not control them - by controlling the borders, making life much more difficult for illegals living here and enforcing laws that deport legal immigrant who accept public assistance - they will keep flooding in, irrespective of US economic cycles - until the US sinks to near 3rd world living standards.

Couple things.

1, 1 million a year is not going to bring about this result.

2, If they are so poor as you claim - they will not have the means to come to America, nor will they leave.

3, This ‘hellhole’ of China and Mexico, China has a space program.

4, The vast majority of American immigration (both legal and illegal), comes from hellholes like Mexico, Canada and the Phillippines. All fellow Christian countries with significant legal and historical ties to the United States.

5, The problem with illegal immigration is not that immigration is in itself negative - but that the immigrants have chosen to break the law in coming to America. The problem is when they stay and they continue to break American laws without impunity. Sovereignty is only asserted through defense of one’s borders, and through control of immigration. Without control, there is no sovereignty.

6, Does it matter where they come insofar as they contribute? This is why legal immigration is so important - if they are here to contribute then they can follow the correct process.

1) Can you even add?
1 million/year legally from 2013-2050 = 37 million
1 million/year illegally from 2013-2050 = 37 million
That's 74 million WITHOUT counting the relatives those legals will get to petition for now and those illegals will get to petition for if they are legalized... AND all the children they'll have here.

2) Such thoughtless foolishness.
The billions of dollars a year in remittances sent back home by foreign born relatives/friends here (which the likes of you have welcomed) is financing the continuing invasion of illegals into this country.

3) Laughable!
And North Korea has a nuclear & ballistic missile program. What the hell has that got to do with the poverty of the vast majority of its people.

4) Come from Canada? Are you truly that oblivious?
According to DHS published statistics for 2010, of the 1,042,625 legal immigrants for that year, 19,491 were from "Canada & Newfoundland." Mexico accounted for 138,717 legally and half of the 1 million illegal entries.

5) The only point you make that makes sense. Did you copy it from another FReeper's post?

6) "They are here to contribute." To which country?

In a Zogby poll of Mexicans (LINK):

Do you agree or disagree that the territory of the U.S. Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico?
Agree: 58 percent
Disagree: 28 percent <= *
Not sure: 14 percent
Do you agree or disagree that Mexicans should have the right to enter the United States without U.S. permission?
Agree: 57 percent
Disagree: 35 percent <= *
Not sure: 7 percent
*This means only 28% of Mexicans believe that the U.S. Southwest belongs to the US (not Mexico) and only 35% of Mexicans believe that Mexicans do NOT have the right to enter the US as they please.

According to another Zogby poll of Mexican-Americans – including those born in the United States (LINK):

When asked “Should the primary loyalty of Mexican-Americans be to Mexico or to the U.S.?” 68.8 percent of respondents said that it should be to Mexico.

When asked, “If the U.S. gave permanent legal status to undocumented immigrants (migrantes indocumentados), do you think it would make your friends and family members more likely or less likely to go to the U.S. as indocumentados, or would it make no difference?” 56.2 percent of respondents answered “more likely.”

AND THAT'S WHAT THE SUICIDE OF A NATION LOOKS LIKE!

“That’s 74 million WITHOUT counting the relatives those legals will get to petition for now and those illegals will get to petition for if they are legalized... AND all the children they’ll have here.”

And, what’s the legal immigration rate at present? About a million and a half a year.

“The billions of dollars a year in remittances sent back home by foreign born relatives/friends here (which the likes of you have welcomed) is financing the continuing invasion of illegals into this country.”

And the reason people earn money is because they work. If they are working then they are earning their employer more money than they are making themselves. I can understand your objection to benefits from the government and this is a problem. But I don’t see the problem when legal immigrants do what they are supposed to do and work. If they work and earn money - then guess what - they are free to do whatever they want with that money after paying taxes. Including sending remittances.
