Its fascinating and incredible just to look at Barack Obama Sr.s old British (Colony and Protectorate of Kenya) Passport.
I have a bunch to say but, for the time being, wont bore you with an exhaustive report. I will, however, offer the following brief introduction for your review:
- DOB: 18.06.1934 or June 18, 1934. 5 years later he says June 18, 1936.
- Eyes: Brown Black. 5 years later he says black brown eyes.
- Height: 5′ 10″. 5 years later he says 5′ 11.
- Occupation: Clerk. Did you know that he was a clerk for the Kenya Railways? I did not know until recently.
- Issued in Nairobi on April 29, 1959. Note: Nairobi was located in the Kenya Colony, not to be confused with the Kenya Protectorate.

Question, since Kenya was a British Colony I’m confused as to why the weight and length are using American measurements rather than the British system of weights and measures.
What are British weights and measures? Grams? Meters?
UK Kenya Colony in 1961 was pre-metrification:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metrication_in_the_United_Kingdom
“Though it was first discussed in the Parliament as early as 1818, a formal policy of metrication only started in 1965. This policy, initiated in response to requests by industry, was voluntary on a sector-by-sector basis, with costs picked up where they fell. In 1969 the Metrication Board was set up to coordinate the programme. Only in 1978, after a carpeting chain store reneged on a voluntary metrication agreement, did the government start issuing orders making metrication mandatory in certain sectors. When the Metrication Board was wound up in 1980, all the economic sectors that fell within its remit except road signage and parts of the retail trade sector had been metricated.”
We live in interesting times...
“We know Obama lost his U.S Citizenship because in was in the Federal Foster Care system 1971 to 1979. Only foreign nationals could be in Federal Foster Care during the 70s. State-based welfare agencies could not provide services to foreign nationals during the 70s because it was against Federal Law.”
All:
SvenMagnussen persists in posting claims, such as the one above, for which there is no evidence and have already been extensively debunked by evidence-seeking FReepers on this thread that was opened for that purpose:
