Preparedness & Household Consumable Supplies

we've slowly accumulated a stock of pretty much everything one buys at a store from dry and canned food stuffs, to other goods like storage bags, wrapping paper, soap, laundry detergent, cleaners, tooth brushes, paper products, and so on and on. We've really gone out of our way to identify everything that might be applicable, even if they are items we use only irregularly. When we run out of something, we check storage, pull out another one if we have it, and add it to the shopping list - so that when we go shopping, we are mostly replenishing storage and not stuff in current use.

You are projecting. You always do that.

If you don't like the threads, ignore them. I've got a whole plonk list of threads to ignore depending on who posted them.

You aren't welcome here. Go. Scoot. Play in traffic.

You guys really need to expand your thinking to include the power politics of post-SHTF Amerika. It’s the big picture you should be looking at, not just the small ball of dried beans and backup generators.

***************************************************
I believe you stated that simple preps for the things that are most likely to happen is what people should be doing something along those lines. And you seem to be calling them doomsayers just for wanting to be prepared.

Yet, you say they need to expand their thinking to include power politics of post-SHTF Amerika, and that merely being prepared with food and a source of power is not enough.

That seems a little contradictory to me. It also seems to make you an even bigger doomsayer when you use terms like “post-SHTF Amerika.

However, I’d like to explore your opinion even further. So please oh omnipotent yardstick enlighten us.

What exactly will be the power politics of post-SHTF America, and how should we all be preparing?

There's a full moon. Booze is legal. It's a Friday/Saturday transition. This was predictable.

He/she/it is very lonely and needs attention.

You are projecting. You always do that.

And you always accuse me of projecting. It's a lame argument so I mostly ignore it.

You guys want to post your prepper stuff without it being subject to a response. Well, sorry, that's not how it works.

Feel free to find somewhere else to post your defeatist, depressive, unpatriotic BS. It's not like FR owes you the space.

Probably just out in the front yard sitting on a log, and looking all around for a one eye’d dog.

Didn't you already get a smackdown from the management on this?

I'm never defeatist. There's always a way to make stuff work.

I'm not depressed. I don't take depressants (unlike some that drink too much on Friday night)

And I'm certainly not unpatriotic. I not only made E-6 myself, I made babies that both made E-4, and they are raising kids that might one day face their own Captain's Mast or Article 15.

If you think the thread needs pulled, mash that abuse button.

If you think I need zotted, mash the same button.

Best not to do that if you've been drinking, though.

Not even close.

Management planned on bugging out to Texas in a much milder scenario than the SHTF scenario that you guys fantasize about. I thought this was fairly clear from that thread -- but I've pinged the appropriate parties in case you're still confused.

Yardstick said: “It really is out of a sense of decency and patriotism that I find you doomsdayers so utterly contemptible, and I will continue to resist you as long as I encounter your posts on FR.”

Yardstick wishes not to encounter “utterly contemptible preppers” such as we are on FR. I believe he is asking to be dismembered so he won't have to endure us any longer. Perhaps you could accommodate his wishes. "Utterly contemptible" prepper leader Kartographer has also pinged you to this problem.

Kartographer has helped thousands of people prepare for emergencies and he does not deserve the continual nastiness of yardstick.

No idea what you’re talking about with the drinking BS. My arguments are perfectly well constructed. You just don’t have an answer to them. You simply can’t imagine that anyone would see your hyserical BS for what it is. The problem is yours, not mine.

You keep saying that I fantasize about a scenario. I don't. That's just a lie.

I live a normal 1870s lifestyle. With high tech adjuncts.

It's a lifestyle choice that includes remaining celibate, Christian, and supporting our military.

Did you serve?

I'm sure Kartographer's isn't the first doomsday cult that has accidentally helped a few people.

In other words, you've never had to put up or shut up in a serious situation that involved life and limb for a cause of freedom.

My last set of 179 day orders were for operation 'Enduring Freedom'.

That one cost me a marriage.

As a Freeper in good standing, I think it is an important topic. Something bothers you about the prepper threads. I don't see how it effects you. Maybe you just need to back away for a bit and ignore them. Maybe with time you will see what is bothering you.

I appreciate your conversations on numerous threads, but I'm not sure I understand this. I know when I have problems I can't explain, I pull back for a while. Just to think about it. JMTC. Take care.

You make unfounded accusation after unfounded accusation -- I'm crazy, I'm bitter, I'm a drunk.

But 100% of what you accuse me of turns out to be BS.

So what does that say about you?

You're the one showering without hot water in some crazy cabin in the woods.

Is it possible that you're the one who's nuts?
