Hey, remember way back when wiretapping the Democratic Party's headquarters was a huge scandal?
It was a petty B&E crime by some “low-level” rogue operators. It blew up into a big deal because Nixon tried to hide it after the fact.
The difference here is that all this (IRS, Benghazi, AP, FOX, NSA et al) was premeditated by the doctrine of a Muslim foreigner who with help from sources undetermined, instilled an environment within government so that its entire being could perpetrate massive, massive intrusions that violates a significant portion of the rights affirmed to us by the Constitution. All this, done by liberal dogma using the guise of protection ‘terrorism’ even though it has officially denied the existence of “Islamic Terrorism”.

And abusing the IRS against one’s political opponents (the 2nd article of impeachment against Dick Nixon was abuse of the IRS).
The scandal wasn’t about wiretapping. The Watergate incident was a break-in at the Democrat National Headquarters. The scandal was the cover up of that incident and a lot of other things by president Nixon and other high ranking officials. There was no wire-tapping.
Yeah, “rogue operators”.
There is no such thing in any government for very long. Either they are operating with full sanction of the authorities, or they get shut down the moment they are detected.
And the Current Regime does not seem to be altogether in much of a hurry to “shut this down”.
This is so much bigger than the attack on the civil liberties by Nixon EVER was, much broader and on many more fronts.
The Current Occupant becomes more and more like Nixon raised to an exponential power, not squared, but cubed and taken to much higher dimensions.
The only reason they even refer to the words of the Constitution is to bring calumny and great shame upon those who would want to believe in the supremacy of the rule of law and precedent.
I agree with you....I used the term to highlight the duplicity of our current oppressive government.
Yea ... I know that and you know that.
BUT ... this TWEET is for the low information voters ... a soundbite that is memorable, biting and therefore effective.
I can go with that.
Probably wouldn’t have amounted to much of anything, if Nixon hadn’t had the Oval Office taping system in operation.
Or if he was a Democrat.
