Bush-Era NSA Whistleblower Makes Most Explosive Allegations Yet About Extent of Gov’t Surveillance..
The Blaze ^

Posted on 06/20/2013 11:24:23 PM PDT by quesney

Russ Tice, a former intelligence analyst and Bush-era NSA whistleblower, claimed Wednesday that the intelligence community has ordered surveillance on a wide range of groups and individuals, including high-ranking military officials, lawmakers and diplomats.

He also made another stunning allegation. He says the NSA had ordered wiretaps on phones connected to then-Senate candidate Barack Obama back in 2004.

“They went after–and I know this because I had my hands literally on the paperwork for these sort of things–they went after high-ranking military officers; they went after members of Congress, both Senate and the House, especially on the intelligence committees and on the armed services committees and some of the–and judicial,” Tice told Peter B. Collins on Boiling Frog Post News.

He went on: “But they went after other ones, too. They went after lawyers and law firms. All kinds of–heaps of lawyers and law firms. They went after judges. One of the judges is now sitting on the Supreme Court that I had his wiretap information in my hand. Two are former FISA court judges. They went after State Department officials. They went after people in the executive service that were part of the White House–their own people.”

You mean “ironic” isn’t rain on your wedding day, and free ride when you’ve already paid? Or some good advice, that you just didn’t take?

so they "went after" then-senator obama, did they? So I guess he's just getting even and everything's squared up now, then?

Not buying the attempt at another 15 minutes of fame here.

Actually there is plenty of info pegging obama as a foreign intelligence agent so it would have been in bounds to check him out.

Thank you for the language forensics on the term “neocon”. The trouble is most never stop being liberals in practical and political matters.

Just as Democratic implies support for individual rights and empowerment while in practice Democratic policies severely limit those very things (excepting abortion and sodomy), there is little conservatism in the “con”.

I call Newt Gingrich a neocon because of his proposals and policies, not because he changed political parties. Proposing government-centered solutions to government-created problems ( example is proposing an Economic Competitiveness Administration to review EPA rules instead of reining in the EPA in the first place) is evidence of “neoconism”.

Chris Christie is another neocon. Other than chewing out some union members, he has done little to advance conservative values. Why does NJ still have all its draconian firearm laws if he’s so conservative?

Neocons tend to carry the R after their name and yap about right-sizing government instead of down-sizing government. They talk about the need for “reasonable” gun control while glossing over the existence of 20,000 firearm laws, many of which are unreasonable. They talk about the need for spying on citizens for security reasons, yet allow students from nations classified as hostile to study here....and lose track of 15,000 of them, while leaving our borders undefended. They propose amnesty for illegal aliens instead of using the NSA to find those “in the shadows”. They expand and create more entitlement programs while we are running a deficit (free drugs for geezers, etc). Scratch the surface of any neocon and they are socialists and equalitarians to the core!

Their names are George Bush, George W. Bush, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Mitch McConnell, John Boener, Karl Rove, Mike Huckabee, Reince Preibus, Saxby Chambliss, Johnny Isakson, ..........

I'm trying to formulate the right question here, and I'm not sure I'll get it right. But here goes.

Suppose that theoretically, the NSA wire tapped Obama starting in 2004. And suppose that the NSA not only knew that he was not a citizen, but it also had tons of incriminating information on him regarding Chicago politics. Maybe the kind of information that would have guaranteed that he would have gone to jail if it had been released.

What would it say NOW about the NSA, if instead of blocking Obama politically, that the NSA preferred Obama to McCain and Romney? Just asking this question is making the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Bush probably WILL get all the blame. Recently though, Obama appointed White Lawyer Avril Haines to be Deputy Director of the CIA. You think Obama might be a bit paranoid? I do.

Without corroboration it’s just a story, and on its face, an implausible one.
