In Kentucky, we expect our representatives to be people of conviction.
But in Washington, its another story. It is not uncommon to find politicians in favor of a bill before they were against it, or for politicians to vote one way in public and another when they think no one is looking. In Washington DC, it is perfectly normal if not encouraged for congressional members to master the art of doublespeak.
And no one has mastered this art better than Kentuckys 30-year senator, Mitch McConnell. In the off years, Sen. McConnell voted consistently for amnesty, but on the eve of a tough reelection campaign, Senator McConnell was mysteriously absent from the immigration debate, turning down interviews, running away from his record. When its convenient, Senator McConnell votes to raise the debt ceiling and is the king of wasteful pork-barrel spending. But come election time, you will hear Sen. McConnell rail against government spending.
This political prevarication, of having his cake and eating it too, is driven by a desperate ambition to climb the ranks and accumulate political power. And no one has been more ambitious and more power hungry than the 30-year career politician from Kentucky.
Shortly after McConnells 5,000 vote victory in 1984, the National Journal profiled the freshman senator and wrote this: Observers say that his single-minded devotion to reaching the Senate reflects personal ambition, not a commitment to a particular political philosophy He is likely to fit in easily with the growing number of senators whose goal is to gain and hold office, not use their personal ideology to shape the public agenda.
This brings us to one of the biggest, most important conservative battles of our generation: Obamacare.

Republicans are Ball-Less.
No, next question.
I like it. Bevin’s not pulling any punches.
The only way to beat McConnell is to “go negative” — not with petty nastiness, but with the TRUTH about Mitch’s FAILURES.
Looks like Bevin will do that. Looks like Bevin is ideologically different, and proud of it. Looks like he wants to WIN.
Bevin is bringing the high heat. Cruz-like. I’ll be watching this race closely. It might be time to send Bevin some money soon.
Take that you old fart. Hopefully, this guy will send you packing, if the people of Kentucky have the sense of a turnip green.
Dump mitch
Dump boehner
Dump rubio
Hell,
Dump the whole worthless bunch of thieves
No. Because he’s a stupid FOK*.

Devastating, and from 1984, too. McConnell is an "easy way" kinda guy who takes the path of least resistance, as he sees it, in all things.
Most of our elected are of this quality, with only a few, much hated/admired exceptions who stand by/for their convictions, no matter what.
Those exceptions are the ones we should have as our Senate and House leaders, not the "easy way" rinos and winos we have now, along with their predictable results.
I would like to ask Matt Bevin a serious question, and one that the Republicans desperately need an answer for, and right now. The clock is ticking.
If and when Obamacare is defunded, Medicare is both crippled and unsustainable. There will be huge inertia *against* ending Obamacare if the alternatives are either trying to bring Medicare back to life, or worse, just chaos.
There has to be a plan. Something. Anything. To prevent a vacuum in health care.
If there is to be massive privatization, it has to be introduced *before* Obamacare is ended. From the point of view of the public, there cannot be an interruption to their health care as things are debated.
By my estimation, the very best thing congress could do quickly is to create a “health care liberty act”. This would mean that people have the *right* to “leave the system (opt out)”, no longer paying FICA at all. This means that they are out of both the Social Security and Medicare systems in one fell swoop.
Employed young people would jump at this opportunity, because they could overnight double their paychecks.
It would amount to an incredible tax cut, money which usually goes to other spending immediately, not for its intended purposes. And it would be an incredible economic stimulus.
The next bet for those already getting benefits would be another legal act, to encourage doctors to stop taking both Medicare and routine care medical insurance, and thus save themselves a fortune in costs.
Right now, some doctors do this and find they can provide cash medical care for *half* the cost of Medicare and insurance care.
But these are just two big things. There will be many more before there is enough confidence to kill the monster of Obamacare.
And the planning for it must be done NOW.
