Did not see this posted. Goes on to outline the support for Sisi by Kerry and Hagel, while both lie about the man’s actual political plans.

Let’s double the military aid to Egypt to $3 Billion.
The 1.5 Billion every year is not giving us control.

The Egyptian government has pledged to rebuild the churches. And don’t forget that the US installed “Islamic democracies” in the two places we controlled, Iraq and Afghanistan, boh of which have constitutions stating that nothing shall disagree with Islamic law. And we approved them, even though many parties there asked us not to do so. But we wanted to prove that we loved Islam.

I think a lot of people, such as the Egyptians, having seen how well the US idea of the “Islamic democracy” worked out - sharia, bombings, oppression and economic dysfunctionality - have changed their minds.

Obama, of course, is still on the side of the MB. It’s only luck and perhaps some rational person in the WH that have kept him from openly supporting them.

The Obama administration is not supporting the military in Egypt. They supported the MB initially and only embraced the inevitable because they have lost all influence.

This is the guy that is now killing the MB nut jobs that are burning down Coptic Churches and killing everyone that is not their flavor of radical Islam.

I don’t care what he wrote. He’s doing the right thing in Egypt for now. I hope he makes good on the promise to rebuild the Coptic churches that the MB are burning.

The Arab world is tribal. You have to get the religious and tribal leader support to get anything done.

Hopefully the MB effort to impose Sharia on the Egyptian people against their will has caused El-Sisi to rethink his notion that Islam and individual freedom can harmoniously coexist.

Not for U.S. Aid going to Egypt.

That said, nothing in the general description of his college paper sounds "radical". Sounds more like he was pointing out future problems he anticipated. What is more, it sounds like he was right in anticipating them ahead of time.

This is the guy who may be defending Christians in Egypt.

Gotta beware of the media disinformation supporting Obama's Muslim Brotherhood here.

I highly recommend reading the actual paper, rather than just taking their interpretation of its content. I did, and reached different conclusions.

1) He is a realist, first, closely followed by being a military man. His English language and writing skills read like any number of other (rather dry) military papers that are cranked out by officers at the War College. He also attended the General Command and Staff Course, Joint Command and Staff College. Between the two I would conclude that this is not somebody you want to take for granted.

2) I didn’t see any fanaticism in that paper at all. This is a guy with zero illusions, and he spends a lot of time speculating as to whether the Arab world can handle democracy. And if Arab democracy is different from western democracy, can the West handle it?

Well, the Taliban and 0bastard side with the MB against Sisi.

At least Sisi doesn’t want to burn all the Christian churches in Egypt. So they’re Egyptians, not Americans... There isn’t a third choice here. And Sisi’s a general, not the president there.
