Snipers fire at UN chemical weapons team in Syria
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 08/26/2013 | Ariel Zirulnick

United Nations weapons inspectors were forced to turn back from visiting the site of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria after their vehicles came under fire from snipers on Monday.

The incident is a setback for those hoping the inspectors would provide a more objective determination on whether the Assad regime had in fact gassed its own people. Russia and Iran have been insisting there is not enough proof that the regime was behind the chemical weapons attack last week, and continue to urge restraint in any international response.

But other international players are already saying there is little doubt, laying the groundwork for an intervention in Syria without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, which Russia has thwarted.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said today that Britain and its allies did not need the unanimous approval of council members, insisting that a response would be “based on great humanitarian need and distress” and would not violate international law.

“Is it possible to respond without complete agreement on the Security Council? I would argue yes it is,” Mr. Hague said, according to the BBC. “Other countries including France are very clear that we can’t allow the idea that chemical weapons in the 21st century can can be used with impunity.”

Assad shooting at UN officials? Is that really bad? It's more effective than filing frivolous lawsuits against the UN.

According to Spokane Police, the UN Inspectors ought not struggle, otherwise they’re asking for it.

I could be a set up. It then gives a reason to put troops in there. Just a thought.

I believe it’s a set up too. It doesn’t make sense for Assad to invite UN inspectors to Syria just so they can be used for target practice.

Honestly, if the corrupt sh1tbags at the UN were sniffing around ANYONE with a brain, I would expect sniper fire in return regardless of race, religion or nationality. As if the globalist one -worlder POS nihilists have the right to snoop around on ANYONE’s lawn.

To be honest I can't make up my mind on this chemical weapons attack. Who stands to gain from it. I would think Assad an company are bright enough to know their chances of quelling the rebellion is greater without outside (US) involvement on behalf of the opposition. Makes one wonder where these attacks really originated. Even if you were counting on the rationale being laid being followed and discredited, allowing you a free shot... very risky move. From what I read, t seemed to me Assad was being somewhat successful in putting this down. As a former psyops specialist, I can tell you those pics of the kids will end up being the undoing of the Assad regime.

The UN is not there to determine who released the gas.

Maybe the Russians can identify the snipers and show the UN who is responsible.

Reports like this make me lean towards believing the attacks were in fact by Zero’s Brotherhood of friends.

The radical Islamists have become adept at "creating" massacres and incidents that can be used as propaganda via the gullible Western media.

Remember Racak...???

It would not surprise if the jihadi gassed their own followers to create such an incident.

But on a positive note, do you believe Bathouse Barry can succesfully lead his effeminate queer troops into battle? No way, and when Obummer causes many Americans to die needlessly then Hillary will have to explain why she’s happy to receive an endorsement from Obama when she runs for President.

The UN is not there to determine who released the gas.

Thank you for the reminder that their mandate is to only determine if chemical weapons were used, not by whom.

Too bad this pic when Syrian Rebels massacred the entire Christian Population of al-duvair village in Reef (outskirt of Homs) on May 27th wasn't the undoing of the Rebels..
