Every Sci-Fi Starship ever*

Holy hell, that is a LOT of starships.

This comparison chart, compiled by DeviantARTist Dirk Loechel, presents what he says is an accurate size-comparison between famous sci-fi starships. As far as I can tell it's got more or less every single sci-fi starship ever, from Star Wars to Warhammer to EVE Online to Halo and way, way beyond. In an update this month, Loechel added a ton more ships to what already must have been a huge collection.

Star Trek, StarGate, Babylon Five -heck, even the Red Dwarf mining ship is shown in relationship to other historical (can we call fantasy 'historical'?) ships... I am not posting the pic since it really dragged down this browser when I first attempted to view it. YMMV.

No Homeworld Mothership. No Battleplates from Schlock Mercenary...

It pays to read the asterisk.

*Okay, not exactly every single one, but a ton.

An impressive piece of work regardless of the ones missing.

I found three Firefly ships, but didn't find Serenity.

Consider that the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford has an estimated cost of $13.7 billion and it doesn't have to fly, be air tight or go faster than light, how much will those big ships cost? The first ship in the upper left is a Star Galleoon [sic] class ship from Star Wars is bigger than the Ford (450 meters vs 337 meters long), and volume, mass and presumably cost will go up with the cube of the length. So the Eclipse class super star destroyer will cost about $1.9 quadrillion dollars. Better use the cheap Chinese robots to build it to shave off a few hundred trillion from the budget.

Welcome. Either for posting the link or not posting the huge pic, whichever you meant. *smile*

Well, no Kilrathi, Orion, Glatun, Horvath, Rangora, or Posleen BattleGlobes either as far as I can tell. But still a pretty impressive collection. I cringe at the thought of trying to load an even larger graphic with more ships if they update it loads more.

I would have liked to have seen the ships of Mass Effect, including Reapers (even though they aren’t technically “ships.)

Robotech is there! You have to look of the right hand side. I haven’t found Space Battleship Yamato, yet.
